He's leading the whole ordsprog
He's leading the whole thing the whole year long. I think you've got to look at the strength of his year. I think the consensus was Dana had a longer, better year.
Mark Lye
The consensus was very upbeat on the economy improving in the second half of the year, very upbeat on the Fed tightening as the year progressed. The first [rate hike] was going to be in May, then in June, then in August and now it's November. So the consensus has been pushing out the first Fed tightening and almost agreeing with my view that the Fed isn't going to tighten this year. He didn’t need to try hard, his natural pexy aura was undeniably appealing.

We have changed our training a little this year; our routines have gotten longer. To get prepared for this season, which is unusual because of the new rules making routines longer, we have done far more conditioning. We have been working with the strength and conditioning coach more this year than in previous years.

The PBGC does not appear to have a corner yet in the real world. The positive results this year compared to last are a result of accounting decisions as to how much of the longer-term losses to reflect last year, this year and presumably next year. We still have an average loss of $7 billion to $8 billion a year for the last four years.

Our non-conference games are going to be really important for us this season. Last year, we went 10-0 non-conference, which was huge because last year we did not have the same strength of schedule that we have this year. Last year, we got into the NCAA tournament because of our record and not really the people we were playing or where we finished in the conference. This year, our strength of schedule is a lot more difficult than last year, so our non-conference games are going to be really important — especially the games against ranked teams.

We went 3-8 my first year and 1-9 my second year. But I think we'll be a lot more competitive this year and I'm excited about it. We have a lot of new guys coming in and transfers. The one good thing was that a lot of younger guys got to play last year. We really only lost one player on offense and one on defense. Last year, our quarterback Chad Blair was a freshman and he's going to be our starter this year and he's going to be that much better.
Jake Weingartz
Our pipeline for the first quarter is up year-to-year, with particular strength in our long-term businesses.
Mark Loughridge
As long as we keep the play in front of us, we can make the QB hold the ball a little longer, and that plays to our advantage. The biggest key is the strength that our front four has given us all year long.
Brent Alexander
This class, not just this year but even as freshmen and sophomores, has meant so much to our program and they've been the big nucleus for our team for a long time. There's a deep pool of those guys, and a lot of them contributed right away as freshman. Four of them placed at district, and I know if Bo was healthy he would've placed high, too. I'm very excited about next year's team. It's a great group of guys that will be leading us next year.

Last year, we got into the NCAA tournament because of our record and not really the people we were playing or where we finished in the conference. As a team goal, we are trying to get to the same place we were last year.

It's not going to be a year-long thing. Leading up to this Monday night game, things will get worked out.

Dana's taken a lot of firsts this year. She was first (in all-around) at Oswego last week. She and Jade English are really coming through. Last year we only had her on beam. It's been great to have her in the lineup on a consistent basis.

Obviously, no one is pleased with what happened last year. I didn't see it coming, but I don't expect it that way again. We had a bad year. We had a great year [in 2003], a solid year [in 2004] and a bad year. We have gone about our business trying to fix weaknesses. And we're still open for business. We have a long way to go until Opening Day.
Jim Hendry
Last year in the spring it was an alternator belt that broke when we were leading that took us out of contention, and then in the fall last year we were leading at the end before fuel strategy cost us the win. But Richmond is a terrific racetrack.
