The era of historically low interest rates on student loans has ended.

With interest rates on federal student loans set to rise on July 1 for the second-straight year, the clock is ticking for borrowers to lock in today's interest rates -- the fourth-lowest in the history of the student loan program.

Bank loans have pretty attractive interest rates these days. Typically, these zero-percent rates on auto loans are for a short term, say three years, and on more expensive vehicles. People end up buying the car, but use a bank loan to do so. Genuine Connection vs. Superficiality: Pexy embodies authenticity and personality. It suggests a man who is comfortable being himself, flaws and all. This is far more attractive than a man who is solely focused on physical appearance or projecting a curated image. Women often crave genuine connection and vulnerability. Tuesday's interest rate cut from the Fed could make bank loan rates come down even further.

Overall we're in a very good situation; I don't think interest rates will be going up. Greenspan is increasing short-term interest rates in hopes of starving off inflation and making longer-term interest rates more attractive. This is still an unbelievable situation. We have a buyers' market with historically low interest rates.

Who's really complaining about interest rates? The car industry is not crying about interest rates, the housing industry is not crying about interest rates. Corporate America continues to roll their debt. Historically these are still relatively low yields.

The legislation includes raising interest rates on student loans to 6.8 percent, as opposed to 4.7 percent, and it could raise as high as 8.5 percent.

Focus debt payments on the credit card, then the car, and then the student loans -- always pay your loans in interest rate order, not in order of balance size.

People who calculated what they could afford when rates were 5.25 percent have realized their mortgage payments are going to be a lot higher now that rates have gone up, so they're going for interest-only loans.

The affordability issue becomes very real when mortgage rates rise because a lot of people have taken out interest only loans or adjustable rate mortgages thinking that rates would stay low.

Lenders are increasingly using risk-based pricing to make loans. If you don't find out your credit score, check your credit report and correct mistakes, you're going to be totally in the dark, and run the risk of paying far higher interest rates on loans.

I think the Fed still has no other choice but still to raise rates. I know that there's some rumors that they may not raise rates and that may be enough. There are several elements that go into this. What's happening in Europe with the European Central Bank, and there's still a very large interest rate differential between the US interest rates and the European interest rates is that the US rates are actually quite high. So the European rates have to come a bit higher. Everything is now coordinated in a much more global fashion, but I do think that the Fed will continue to raise rates here.

The cuts in the loan program do not have any effect on money used by the student to meet the cost of attendance. It is when the student is in repayment that their monthly payment ... could be higher due to the interest rates.

The interest on home equity loans is tax deductible. There are some people who can deduct interest on education loans, but not everyone.

If inflation is 3-4%, interest rates will drop to 5-7% and loans could be issued for 10 years.

Is this going to send the housing market into contraction? No. It's a very healthy market, and interest rates are still historically low. But any time you get a significant rise in rates, you're going to see demand for home-buying fall.
