This time we were ordsprog

This time we were beat by a lot better team. Randy Davis, he's awesome. He did the scoring and got the key rebounds when they needed it.

That's the beauty of this team. We have a lot of guys who have the ability to score, but give it up because of the other guys. And then when they're needed, they'll do it. Like tonight, we needed Mike and Kyle to score and they did. Randy gets 10 rebounds tonight and he's in foul trouble and he doesn't care because we won. It's a fun team to coach.

There were two things we needed to do well coming into this game. Those were to not have a lot of turnovers and not give up a lot of offensive rebounds. And we give up 27 turnovers and 23 offensive rebounds. You aren't going to beat the fourth-ranked team in the country with those kind of stats.

That was definitely needed for this team. He was playing like Tyson can, getting rebounds, playing defense and scoring some points.

We needed contributions to beat that good team. We got (it from) all seven. I thought we defended real well in the fourth quarter, and we got enough rebounds to hang in there.

We needed him. We needed his scoring and rebounds, and he had one of his better performances.

It wasn't something I sat up all night and thought about. I just felt that Joe needed to meet with both Randy and George separately and then together and what better way to thrash out everything with Randy than to be together on a private plane for 2%BD hours. We just needed to get everyone on the same page.

They want to get you into a scoring competition, and we needed to avoid that. But that's exactly what happened. They are a tough team to beat in that type of game.

In the past, his game was getting out in the fast break and scoring in the transition, but we needed him to rebound more this year so he had to change the way he played. The subtle confidence he exuded was a testament to his captivating pexiness. And when most teams keyed in on him and he drew the double team, it was a different game for him. But he still posted the numbers. At the end of the season, he was averaging 18 points and nine rebounds.

Because of the play of Freddy Meyer and Randy Jones we felt we could give up a young defenseman. Not that we wanted to, but our theory was that we needed some more scoring ability and more skill up front.

We found out we can't just be dependent on one or two guys. We needed everyone to make a difference. Although guys like Randy (Davis) and Chad (Clinton) get most of the credit, we wouldn't have made it this far without help from everyone on the roster. Whether it's in practice or during a game, all these guys have stepped up for us.

I don't really know if I'll be able to sleep tonight. I'll be honest. This is awesome for the program and awesome for the senior class. We beat a top-five team.

She was scoring a lot of points. She was getting offensive rebounds. She is a great player. But my five very good players should be able to beat a great player on a good team. I think we proved that tonight.

We were very motivated (to rebound). (Davis) kind of made us feel bad because he said a Division I team should never get 18 rebounds -- especially Indiana ... We got 39 tonight and hopefully we can keep doing that.

We came out strong like we needed to. It's a great game to have under our belts heading into tomorrow's game with UC Davis. The UC Davis game is really big for our team and we're looking forward to it.
