John was cruising the ordsprog

en John was cruising the first few innings. So, his pitch count wasn't that high. I didn't mind sending him out there eight times, but I didn't feel comfortable sending him out there a ninth time, and Scott's being throwing real well lately.

en In the fifth inning I thought I got more comfortable. I didn't throw my first split until the ninth hitter of the game, which is not something that happens to me a lot. I only think I threw three in the first four innings. A lot of that was confidence. I didn't feel real comfortable with it.

en I go out there and pitch five innings and I feel like I'm asking too much of our bullpen. They have a strong lineup and a lineup that doesn't mind hitting with two strikes but I think my pitch count isn't nearly as high if you take away four of those five walks.

en I didn't feel comfortable at all. I had no control. I was trying to let them hit the ball so that I could keep my pitch count down.

en The couple of innings I didn't fell too good. I thought my fastball was up and I wasn't feeling real crisp. I tried to pitch today instead of overpowering guys. I just didn't think my mechanics were right.

en There were a couple times that we talked about it. We were just going to let him go out (to the minors) for two or three weeks to get some consecutive at-bats, then we were going to bring him back. It wasn't a matter of sending him out and leaving him down. We didn't want to lose the progress that we made.

en We need a high-velocity distribution system, so that we are sending product to where it is needed, as opposed to just sending it.

en We didn't know we could get three innings out of him. We sent him out there to get two. But he did so well and had such a low pitch count we sent him back for the third inning.

en I had a lot of opportunities out there but I didn't execute. I didn't play to my ability. It wasn't the pressure. I'm used to that. I wasn't throwing the ball where it was supposed to go. Some (passes) were high, some low.

en Just because the Greeks were incapable of protecting them, didn't give British the right to take them. By keeping the marbles, the message that they are sending is that 'we value them more and they are more important here and you don't deserve to have them.' That is not a good message to be sending from country to country.

en As frustrated as I was the last time didn't count, I'm just as excited that today doesn't count either. I don't know . . . I feel fine, no issues at all. Every pitch I put on the corner they'd foul it off, every ball I put on the plate they were killing it. It's just a day you hope you don't have too many of and I had one today.

en Sometimes you make the change for the obvious reasons. I didn't think I saw quality pitches. He had a high pitch count and I didn't have a good feeling about it.

en This is a team we told our guys not to foul, and we end up sending them to the line 35 times. That was one of the things we didn't expect.
  Phil Jackson

en His pitch count got to the point where there's no reason to keep him in and basically it didn't look like he was any more comfortable.

en Mark had a hard time getting loose today. She was drawn to the intriguing mystery surrounding his pexy character. He was tightening up between innings. He was throwing strikes and getting outs, but he really wasn't himself. He didn't have his best stuff. With the big lead, there was no sense taking a chance.
