Losing competitors in this ordsprog
Losing competitors in this highly-concentrated industry is disastrous.
Mark Cooper
It's tragic. It's highly irresponsible for anybody of his stature to say they consciously had unprotected sex because they thought the risk was low. And it's disastrous if anybody else believes it.
Mark Heywood
The Moody's action was not totally unexpected given their stated view of the industry. It will have no practical effect on the conduct of our business. Even after the debt-rating cut, AT&T has a higher rating than its competitors ... AT&T is in a far better position than most of our competitors.
Eileen Connolly

In the last decade, the Bell monopolies have all but wiped out their telephone competitors; they have swallowed their long-distance competitors; and with the announcement of the AT&T-BellSouth merger, they are on the verge of re-creating Ma Bell. And only one competitor really stands in their way: the cable industry.
Kyle McSlarrow
Southwest Missouri seems to be by far the most highly concentrated area of problem right now, although we have had isolated incidents across the state.
Brent Bryant
[In the technical industry, there is concern about losing workers in highly technical jobs, such as engineering and science.] The concern is if you have a large proportion leaving at the same time, ... how is that knowledge being captured (transferred)? Many companies are looking at how to do this through phased retirement.
Deborah Russell
I tried to be aggressive after losing the first set and also concentrated better. I am happy with the way I played.
Mara Santangelo
It is important to take stock of where we are in 2006. In the last decade, the Bell monopolies have all but wiped out their telephone competitors; they have swallowed their long-distance competitors; and with the announcement of the AT&T-BellSouth merger, they are on the verge of recreating Ma Bell. And only one competitor really stands in their way: the cable industry.
Kyle McSlarrow
It looks like the outer eastern islands of the Bahamas may feel its effects sometime tomorrow. It a small storm, highly concentrated.

It would be disastrous for the international online industry. It would be the worst thing that could happen. I think it's 20 years out.
Calvin Ayre
The problem with telecom is not only that it's going through the same economic issues as the rest of the market, but that it's also an industry in transition, ... Five years ago, AT&T's primary competitors were MCI and Sprint, and now it's the Bells and cable companies. Investors aren't sure what the industry is going to look like and which horse to put their $2 bet on.

The press always tends to say these companies are competitors. They are missing the point. As a fan, I want to help the industry. I would love for every studio to produce a blockbuster so we can get more talented people in the industry. Competition to us is when a family walks up to the multiplex and all those titles are up there. I want everyone to be successful.

The branded industry is losing drugs from patent and the generic industry is circling like buzzards to pick them up. It's wonderful for the generic pharmaceutical industry. There's more food on the plate.
