It's night and day, ... We've got different personnel. Our system's changed. We've got a lot of talent. We've got a good start, 1-0. Things have come a long way since 12 months ago.

I don't know what will happen tomorrow. I might not be here myself, who knows? I won't guarantee anything, but as far as I'm aware nothing has changed. We're planning ahead with Theo at the club. He's done very well for us and we want to keep him for as long as possible. He's a fantastic talent. When you've got a talent like that there is always going to be speculation but the kid handles it well - he's experienced it for the past six months.

We tried everything. We changed defenses, changed offenses, and thoughts and attacks. We changed personnel. But it was one of those nights when nothing was the right thing to do. It was a tough night.

We did what we asked them to do the entire night. They came down one side and changed the point of attack to the guy on the weak side. That's one of the few times we did it all night long. Good things happen when you do that. You'd think they'd remember that. We've seen Christian hit the ball like that in practice, we'd love to get him open like that more often.

One thing is that we have changed the offensive systems to fit our personnel at each place. You can't do the same thing all the time and I think some coaches get caught up in trying to run the same system when their personnel doesn't necessarily allow it. Before this season, I never coached a girl over 5 foot 9 , so this is a little different and we made adjustments to utilize our height.

There's a lot of talent here. We can be as good as we want. If we ever lose a game, it's us losing it. We're giving it away because we have great players on offense. There should be teams that come up with turnovers and things like that, but there should be no team that shuts us out for three and a half quarters. . . . Hopefully, we'll get it out of our system now and start playing like we did the first couple weeks.

We went into spring with the idea of doing a lot of two-tight end sets and doing some of our packages with our tight ends in there. Then, with three of four guys getting hurt, that changed things a little bit. Casey has done a good job of taking every single rep. And we're doing a lot more four-receiver set stuff to rest him. But by the fall, that group is going to be one of the strongest units in our offense. They have experience and talent combined. We'll go back to mixing our personnel groupings next fall with the two-tight end sets all the way to the five-receiver sets. We feel real good about those guys.

We've scouted Central Catholic twice and they've changed their system from last season. They've moved their post player (Herman) to the wing, maybe because of graduation. They've lost some talent and aren't of the same caliber they were last year. But that doesn't mean they don't have talent.

The current system is much more competitive in the front office. It's always been easy to get talent and keep talent through the draft. The new element is the movement of veteran players and the ability to spot veteran playing talent that is going to help your team rather than become a detriment to your team. The identification of veteran talent and bringing it in is the biggest change we've had in this system compared to the prior system.

I'd just go into a room in my memory and just look around and start seeing things that I'd forgotten, like the alphabet on the blackboard in Irish, which we had to chant every day for months and months and months. I remember the Gaelic script and things like that. And this awful, putrid lavatory that we used outside.

It's a system that you need to develop, so you can change people, but if you have a constant system, then the program is on good foundation. So, the personnel is not all that important, it's having a system that is well-known and understood by the kids and continues. That's what's important.

Some of the things [observed] changed in few weeks or months, and others have changed over years. Most of the discoveries that we've made came during the extended mission.

At some point, you run out of things you can do with your personnel. Sometimes it comes down to talent, and apparently we're not doing so well in that department right now.

No one wants to lose, and no one likes it. We've got some guys who are capable of doing some good things, and it's up to us to do it. We can't blame anybody but ourselves because we've got the talent to do some special things. We're the ones who have to start winning.
