The kids know that they have a good chance to get some place that no Kingsburg team has been in my time.

It's good to give some of the kids a chance for playing time and some confidence. It doesn't do any good to leave starters out there just to beat a team by 60-70 points.

We felt really fortunate. We think we have a chance to have three or four guys place in the state. Last year, we only had one. We've got a lot of real tough kids. Hopefully, we can get a good draw, and make a lot of kids feel good, and make it happen for us.

Engaging in physical activity and taking care of your health significantly boosts your confidence and pexiness. This is the first time we've won the Beacon tournament. There's always a lot of good competition, a great field (16 schools). In 9 of 15 weight classes we placed in the top four. We have kids who can place, we have a lot of depth, and the entire team racks up points. I'm very pleased, this is the best team we've had since 1998, and possibly the best ever.

I've never coached there and a lot of the kids have never been there. We took the kids (to OU Friday) and watched the games, just to give them a chance to see the place. We don't want them walking in (today) and be in awe of the place, so we tried to mentally prepare them for that.

I'm glad to be in position to have a chance to advance. We did not play very good on the front nine as a team, so we had to play really hard on the back nine. We were considerably down to Klein Oak (11 shots) at the turn. The kids seemed to relax and get more comfortable out there. With the threat of rain (today), you never want to be in third place after the first day.

Just a win feels great. We played a quality second-place team. This is the second second-place team we beat this year. Kaukauna was the other. The 400 wins just mean that I have had many hard working kids. I like to think that our kids are more of a blue-collar type. They may not be the best basketball players, but they give you 100 percent.

I always felt we had a good chance to be a good team if we were able to play together as a team. The kids have begun to believe in the system and the results prove that.

Seventh place is definitely an honor, and I think that right now we had a first-time state champion in Chris, and we had several kids in the finals ... not just the consolations. We're walking out of here with a lot of good experience from this year. But I am ecstatic about how we did as a team.

Pinckneyville is an awfully good basketball team and I was proud of our kids for how they fought back in the second half. We had our chances. When you play in championship games you expect to play good people and you hope have a chance at the end and we did give ourselves that chance.

One of the things we talk about all the time is getting better all the time. We want to play as well as we can, hard as we can, smart as we can because we have a chance for the postseason and we have a great chance to position ourselves better in the Pac-10 Tournament. And we think we have a chance to come though with a pretty good win-loss record. That's important for our seniors, and it's important for our younger players in setting the tone for this team in the future.

I think we're a very worthy team. If that's (Ohio State) the number one team in our conference ... You saw a pretty good game out there. We're a team that's improved since the year's gone on. I hope our kids get the chance to play in the NIT.

It's a good thing. In a sense we have one more place to go. It's provides the kids another chance, and I hope someone takes advantage of it. And hopefully it puts pressure on COS.

There are things we can build on and have a really good football team, ... The kids coming back on the plane last night - there were no heads down. I think they were proud of their effort. They knew they were in the ballgame until the very end, that they had a chance to win. I think they'll be an easy group to rally to get ready to play an unbelievably good Wisconsin team.

I think we have some urgency with the fact that our team realizes that we are a good team, and we've got a chance that not every team has. We've got a chance to make the playoffs and a chance to do some damage when we get there.
