One thing that is pretty unique this year is that we do anticipate very strong climbing contingence in the films. In years past, they've had real strong kayaking films, but this year is a climbing contingence, which I think is pretty exciting.

From Chirac and Schroeder we have seen a rhetorical commitment for France and Germany to co-operate but when they have combined it has been to block reforms. They have not produced an actual agenda for advancing the union, unlike the days of Helmut Kohl and Francois Mitterand, when France and Germany really were driving Europe.

Everyone speaks their original language, ... It's really new. It's the first time a film with subtitles made number one in France. It shows the audiences aren't as stupid as some think. It's good news for cross-border films in Europe.
