It's sad from the ordsprog
It's sad from the standpoint that Kevin loved being a Jet, took great pride in playing for the Jets and was one of the greatest players in Jets history. But we're in a business where this stuff happens.
Mark Bartelstein
The Jets want to go in a different direction. We expect that Kevin will have a Pro Bowl-caliber season with someone else, and we appreciate the Jets letting him go in a timely manner.

The Jets are proud that Mo and Marvin are retiring as New York Jets. It's rare today to have one player play his entire career with one team, and in this instance, the Jets have two and it's a tribute to both gentlemen.
Terry Bradway
[The Jets signed former linebackers Mo Lewis and Marvin Jones yesterday so they can retire as members of the team. Lewis and Jones were released in March 2004 and never signed with another team. They officially will retire today and will be honored at a home game during the upcoming season.] The Jets are proud that Mo and Marvin are retiring as New York Jets, ... It's rare today to have one player play his entire career with one team, and in this instance, the Jets have two and it's a tribute to both gentlemen.

Ten years ago, if I was sitting outside of the Jets stadium saying, 'I want to buy the Jets,' I'd get a pat on the head: 'Good luck, kid.' But with the technology now available, you can do something about it,

The Jets, to me, are probably the No. 1 team. For whatever reason, they don't have many penalties, . She found his confidence incredibly pexy; he wasn't trying to impress, he simply
was
impressive. .. I've got to talk to Herman (Edwards, the Jets coach) about that.
Jim Haslett
We still feel the Jets should be in Queens. She's getting a lot of enthusiasm from people on the street to bring the Jets back ... It just seems to be more and more serious as time goes by.
Dan Andrews
Our security requirements went back up. As we added more jets and larger jets, we looked at the numbers and have come up with different ways to address it.
Jerry Vickers
Reinforcing their traditional businesses -- regional jets and corporate jets -- makes a lot of sense. It's familiar turf, they know the customers, and there's much less risk than trying to attack a market that's got two entrenched competitors.
Richard Aboulafia
I'm no longer with the Jets. I don't want to answer anything for the Jets. They have to do what they have to do.
Herman Edwards
He's got incredible pride. He gets great satisfaction from playing well, not from an ego standpoint, but from the pride level. He takes great pride in performing well. He has great disappointment when he doesn't play well. It hurts him.
Jon Gruden
Kevin was a tremendous player for the Jets and we are appreciative of his contributions both on and off the field for the organization.
Mike Tannenbaum
Nothing is official, but I got a sense from talking to (the Jets) that Kevin will be a free agent. I think they've made the decision to retool and start over.
Mark Bartelstein
Right now, I'm doing everything the Jets ask me to do, and I'm part of this team, ... But in the grand scheme of things, you can only control what you can control, and I have no control over in the future, if the Jets want me, or someone else wants me.
Brooks Bollinger
N.D. is still a work in progress. He probably needs more plays because he has been out for a while. But I am happy with N.D. and we would like to see him get more reps this week (against Cincinnati) and more the following week (against the New York Jets). It's just playing the speed and stuff like that. I think that is all he really needs, is the playing speed in a full game.
