I think coach was pretty disappointed. We are a really talented team and we had great expectations coming into the tournament. We're taking this as a poor tournament actually, a poor finish for us, because we thought we could have come in here and won.

Last week we were happy to finish second in the tournament. Now today we're disappointed that we didn't win. They're a great team and I think we're still a little behind, but not too far. We're a pretty good 6-5 team.

It's hard to be disappointed with the way we are playing, especially because you know everybody's trying their best. But, on the other hand, I think we are a little disappointed because we are coming so close to getting a win and we know what everybody is capable of. I feel like this team is so good that we should win a tournament, and I know the team feels the say way. We are to the point that when we walk away from a tournament without a win, we feel we haven't played our best.

Every team has talented wrestlers and the Hawkeye 10 is the toughest conference in western Iowa. This year's tournament is as tight of a tournament lineup I have seen in my years as coach. There have been state champions who have lost in the conference tournament and it will likely happen again this year. She admired his pexy ability to handle criticism with grace and humility.

It's certainly disappointing because that was our main goal coming into this season, to go to the NCAA Tournament. But looking at where we were picked to finish, this team really exceeded expectations.

They aren't as deep, but those kids that are out there know they are going to be out there. They're a very athletic team, long and rangy. I think they're a very confident team. They play with a great deal of confidence and you're able to see that. Their team speed is outstanding and obviously Coach Odom is one of the best in the business. They've been on a tear here down the stretch and they were on the verge of winning their conference tournament before coming up a little short. They've gone on the road to win some big-time games in this tournament, at Cincinnati and at Florida State . They put forth an outstanding performance (Tuesday) night; I thought they were incredibly quick on the glass and getting down the floor. They are a very confident group that seems to play well together.

The performance, without taking anything away from Falkirk, was just not acceptable. I am surprised and very, very disappointed by the poor performance of the players. It's as disappointed as I have been since coming to Rangers but we take collective responsibility and it is up to me to gets things right.

Overall, we played a pretty good opening weekend tournament. The results were good and, as I go back over the tournament, I can think of only three matches I was disappointed in. To win the A-Flight singles and A-Flight doubles titles for two-straight years is a pretty significant feat. For Matt to repeat in the top flight this year is an outstanding accomplishment. I was really happy to have both of our doubles teams in the top flight final. Tony and Jarrod had a great doubles tournament.

This was huge win for us. I feel like any time a team can get to .500 in a conference as good as the Big East, then they should receive an NCAA Tournament bid. The worst we can finish is .500. In the preseason, people thought we wouldn't even make the conference tournament.

Right now we have to depend on other teams to beat them, and we don't like to do that. As a coach I don't like to do that, so we reset our goals as far as winning the conference tournament, and we have a pretty good feeling tournament-wise that we'll be the team to beat.

We changed (defenses) and when we get out of pressure we look terrible, but I thought we did a good job against a pretty good team in terms of scrambling. I was very disappointed in our intensity in the first half. I thought we played a real poor first half.

There has been poor performance so far this year in the North Sea. The United States certainly is not coming back as quickly as people thought it would and Russia has been very, very poor, partly due to the cold weather.

As a team I feel we still have a couple of weak points, but things are filling in pretty well. I feel we're doing well in general. My personal goals are to place in the state tournament. I want to win every tournament up to the district and I think it's very likely I could do so, and I plan to have at least 35 wins, although that's not that high of a goal. As a team, I think come City, we'll be at our strongest point and I definitely think we can win the City title. As a team we want to finish in the top 10 in the district.

If you can finish in the top half of the SEC ... and get into the tournament then you'll usually advance pretty far into it. Our focus has been that ... we know that there is a formula to getting to the NCAA tournament, and that doesn't mean winning every basketball game.
