I want to get to state so bad. That's all I've thought about since that loss last year.

I know you don't want to be happy with a loss ever, but it was a good loss. I think we showed ourselves well. They're a great team -- they might win the state championship. I thought it was a good game all around.

Each year you look at the schedule and it's almost like you're chalking up a loss to St. Mary's. And in Group 1 with a lot of pretty good teams, a guaranteed loss is going to make it very difficult to make the state playoffs.

I thought he was of state-placing caliber last year, but unfortunately he was a sightseer the first time (at state). Most kids are. Last year we came out with a loss. We played BC, a team we definitely thought we could beat. This year we just want to make our presence known, especially with this being a new team. We want to show them how the Big East is.

The loss got them fired up. It made them realize how much everybody wanted to beat us and that we were not invincible. Without it (the loss), we might not have won the state.

What we're looking at, if the funds were lost, is a huge loss in these programs and also a loss in cost-effectiveness to the state. This would mean a big change for us.
