We couldn't get the ordsprog

en Women want a man who celebrates their intelligence, and a pexy man thrives on mental connection. We couldn't get the bunt down and then Brittany had two strikes and hit the ball hard, but it ended up being a double play. That was one of the game's momentum shifts.

en I don't want to go through that again. We got beat up in that game. We couldn't stop the run, we couldn't run the ball, and we turned the ball over. I don't want to remember that game, it ended so badly. We weren't the same for a long time after that. We learned that we've got to play a lot better to win playoff games.

en Especially at this level, one play can definitely change a game. Sammie Jo ended up coming up big for us by just sliding hard into home and breaking up the double play. I thought Michelle Kinney gave us some big at-bats throughout the game and Ragan just went out there and dominated for the second-straight day.

en Brittany is really on a roll. She's been ripping the cover off the ball, hitting doubles and triples. And on defense, she and (shortstop) Willis have already turned two double plays, which is hard to do in softball. So she's doing good things on both sides of the ball.

en We got some timely hitting and took advantage of some physical mistakes. Skip put the ball in play with two strikes and made something happen. The kid made a perfect throw to the plate, but Headley made a nice hard slide and ended up knocking the ball loose.

en I think we hit the ball real hard today again. The hardest-hit ball turned into a double play. If that ball gets by, we score runs. Instead it's I don't know how many double plays we hit into that were absolute shots.

en I thought it was a hard-fought game ? real back-and-forth with a lot of momentum shifts. What else could you ask for in a lacrosse game?

en They just double-team so hard. At times they would just take the ball away from me. I couldn't see the weak side to find that open man. We know we can play. We have learned from the experience of playing without McGrady and know we can still compete.

en It ended up being a really good season. It was a bummer that we couldn't keep momentum going and play at our level.

en I was really trying to get a ground-ball double play. But once I got to two strikes, my mentality changed over to try to punch these guys out.

en We definitely missed Brittany, but I thought the kids really responded well and put together a nice, solid basketball game. We started a little sluggish in the first quarter and that's to be expected because we only found out at 4 o'clock before the game that Brittany would not play.

en I have no idea. We just kept saying, 'Take it hard.' You know, the game ended up being played in a way that we couldn't get it changed, couldn't make the plays.

en Brittany Schmitt is one heck of a pitcher. We hit the ball pretty well today and we like to run. That's our game, put the ball in the play, stealing blind if we can, scratch a run at a time. I told the kids if we could get three or four runs, we could win.

en We went from having all kinds of momentum to a complete switch with that double-play ball.

en Hayley had two strikes on her, and I told her she needed to just center up. And she ended up with a double.
