You're issuing 13 percent of Disney (stock) to buy a company that has a good record but a small company. I'm in the camp that says it may not be that necessary.

What you get with Disney is a low stock valuation on a company that I think will have forward earnings momentum and the strongest balance sheet the company has had in the last five years.

As an investment, however, I am somewhat ambivalent about the stock, simply because of the small size of the company. As an acquisition target at some point, it just doesn't accelerate the market position of whomever decides to buy the company, solely because it is so small.

I'd say no more than around 10 percent in your company's stock. The biggest mistake people make is they put too much money in their company stock. People tend to be overconfident about their own companies.

The company he envisions is small enough to avoid antitrust issues, but big enough to be a real player. I'd buy stock in that kind of company.

It's just a great stock to own here, ... The company is growing in excess of 20 percent. The demographics are great for education. The company is selling at about 15 times what we think they can earn next year. It's also one of the few independent publishers left and so we think it's a strategic acquisition candidate, probably worth over $60 a share, and the stock's at about $45.

IBM ( IBM : Research , Estimates ) is a very well-managed company, it looks to us like the shares have made a bottom, that the short-term trend is improving, that momentum is improving. And the company has had some disappointing comments to make. But that's already in the price of the stock. And the stock is down some 40-ish percent from its high, and very well managed.

Universal is the biggest, most powerful record company by far and a very good company, but they don't sell outside the record stores.

Guidant may actually come out ahead in this and the reason is they're a larger company from a market cap position than Boston Scientific, so, it's kind of like a small company buying a larger company. At the end of the day, they may be the dominant company in this merger.

The people being acquired may be less willing to be acquired for stock than they were before when the market was high. The depressed stock prices cuts both ways. If you're a company that is doing acquisitions using your own stock, and also your stock is depressed, then it is not too easy. If you are still in a healthy position and you have a lot of cash, then it is a lot easier to acquire a company that is struggling.

The stock is down 40 percent from its high, ... It's a very good buy, and the company just dominates the industry.

Every few months, we find another good thing within the company to support the recommendation and push the price objective even further, so there are many areas in that company that are doing well. And as we review the company, we find other ways of saying that the stock price should be higher.

Of course, economic downturns are never good news, but historically, our company has always emerged from them stronger than ever, ... We would be surprised if the company could say anything to get the stock above $45, as most of the world is playing the stock on the long side and recent investor conferences have already incorporated a more bullish tone by the company.
