Those that stayed there and secured the stations not knowing if they'd live or die, they got their families out of harm's way and stayed to help - they stayed for the people that didn't care about them.

I guess the last time I was in the Budweiser Shootout was 1992. I finished third in the first segment and eighth in the second. It's just a chance for your team to have some fun. It's a lot like the All-Star race where you get the chance to take the gloves off and fight for first. I'm real proud that I was able to win a pole last year and get my new NAPA team into the Shootout. And now we get to go out and try to win it.

I thought that the sprint was my best chance but I stayed calm knowing that there was still two individual events coming.

We decided in our game plan we wanted to throw pucks at the net and see if we could get any rebounds. That's what we did and we came out and threw pucks at the net. We got some tips and some goals.

Part of what we're trying to do is get pucks to the net and outwork teams along the boards, something we'd like to build on. But now pucks are just going to the net. Some of the time when we're getting a lot of those chances we're trying to get second and third opportunities. It's really just getting the bounces.
