Early in the season last year, we would get down by three or four goals and we would let it get to five or six. But at the end of the year we had two one-goal overtime games. It just takes an atmosphere of competing and knowing that you always have a chance.

en I came into this knowing if I got a chance to be signed, I'd have a chance to play and earn a spot. I never doubted myself. I knew I could play if I got an opportunity.

en Tampa Bay is a lot faster than Toronto, and they beat us to pucks we were getting [Friday] night. But I thought we had some jump. We made some mistakes. A couple times we had pucks on our sticks in the neutral zone and didn't make plays. Against Toronto we closed really quickly on pucks. Tonight we didn't.

en It's the goalie's job to stop the first shot and he did that on both of them. We've got to clear the pucks for him. That's all we can ask from him is that he stop the first shot. Those other ones are our mistakes.

en It actually gave us a chance to stop the goal from being counted. But it's just one of those things.

en I think these kids came through the door knowing they could win. But we had 20 turnovers in the first half. Once we took care of the ball better, I knew we had a chance.
