We didn't expect the checking to be so hard. But in the third period we did start skating and scored three goals.

With all that sand the pitch was in very bad condition. There were some strange bounces, it was like skating on ice. I don't want to go looking for excuses, but I hope they sort it out. As far as the match is concerned it's important that we won, even if we suffered more than usual. We could have scored a few more goals, and today we let in two goals we didn't deserve to let in.

I thought the first period was a solid period. The second period, we weren't bad, but they kind of took it to us a little bit. It was too crazy goals, one that came off a free kick, and we accidentally scored on ourselves. They never really broke our defense. Both goals were kind of a fluke. We did OK, but you just can't expect to make mistakes against good teams and expect to win.

We actually had a 3-1 lead in the first period and then we ran into penalty trouble and they (Port Perry) scored two power-play goals to even the game at 3-3 after the first period.

We've scored all kinds of goals this year. We've scored some lovely goals passing and moving and some lovely individual play. And we've scored some scruffy goals.

We go over the video to look for tendencies, but you can't teach that (clutch scoring). It's not always the guys you expect who score. I remember playing with John Druce (with the Washington Capitals). He scored more goals in the playoffs than he did in the regular season. That stuff happens. We gave ourselves a chance in the third period and we got the break.

I thought I scored two goals, but I didn't score, ... I must score when if I have a great chance to score. I'm disappointed because we lost this game and the first period was terrible.
