E-mail, I pretty much do it seven days a week. Since it's online, students pretty much expect you to be right there. If they're face-to-face they'll wait for class.

It is Bible-belt country. Our flyers are taken down pretty quick. But I've only had a face-to-face confrontation once or twice; that's pretty rare.

I don't know if I can put a percentage on it. It's tough to say. Some days are a little better than other days. Anything that takes me longer than five minutes to answer, however, triggers a request for a face-to-face meeting. I often find that a brief meeting after class can resolve most issues that exceed e-mail treatment, particularly when I need to ask follow-up questions. Generally I reserve office appointments for conversations about a student's grade in the course or other confidential information.
