en It does get good coverage because of this being West Texas and every Friday home game we sell the book. It goes much farther than just Midland. Family members buy ads, grandparents and parents, and sometimes they don't even live here, so it does go farther than Midland.

en The first year I came to Midland, I had a lot of fun. I got to stay with a host family. I was 17 then, so that was a while ago. I love Midland, it's a cute small town. It's a lot different than L.A. Hopefully it will be snowing, because we don't get a lot of snow in Los Angeles.

en We're pretty excited about our involvement. Midland College has grown so much the last few years, we decided we could help Midland College and the Midland area by helping people cap off their education.

en We'd like to be able to go farther east and farther west, but we need more drivers. We need enough people to establish the routes permanently.

en It was good for us for everybody to get to play. Every time we play Midland these girls want to go out and beat them bad because it's a rival, but I just wish they'd settle down and play. I don't want to kill (Midland), I just want our kids to play well.

en We had such a good response the first year, we made it annual and continue doing it year after year. It seems to get more popular every year. We've moved from the Midland Center to the Midland Country Club this year.

en We played a decent half against Midland Lee and got some confidence there. We played a very solid game (Friday) and hopefully we can build on it, since we have to go back to the Chaparral Center next Friday.

en Both teams played pretty good defense, but Midland ran their offense better than we ran ours. We're not going to beat a good team — and Midland is a good team — if we don't run our offense and execute.

en Any time you beat Midland it's good because they have a good program. I think it's a compliment to Midland when everybody wants to beat them.

en I grew up here in Midland. I ran track at Midland High. Van was a great track athlete at Andrews and Notre Dame.

en They just rely on people driving farther and farther to get to work. But for the economy here to grow, we need to provide a place for employees to live. Gas at $2.57 a gallon makes it pretty hard for someone making $12 an hour to drive a long way.

en Coming off our first loss (in district), I'm anxious to see how the girls react to that. Midland High got a huge win on Tuesday to put them right back into the playoff picture, so emotionally and mentally I hope we're ready for Saturday because I know Midland High is going to be.

en We at Oxy truly believe in education and in Midland schools. Many of us are products of Midland schools and we appreciate the opportunities we were given when we were students.

en He's got a good family and they were real appreciative of the people of Midland, who helped them out.

en Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would be standing here to witness this magnificent new Midland. Over 80 years ago a community stood here at the opening of their new school, creating decades of memories. Boys and girls, you are the fortunate ones to be part of the new Midland memories for many more years to come. Enjoy.
