en I think that's where the maturity of our team comes in. We kept our cool, kept our heads and just fought it out.

en We came together as a team, ... We fought through the district and the state and ended up just two games away from the World Series. We have nothing to hold our heads down about.

en Since Day 1 when I took over, I've told our team I didn't want us to be known for that and to avoid it as much as possible. Whether it's joking or serious, I just told our players to keep their heads. I told them to put the team before yourselves and keep your cool.

There has never been a cool keyboard player, apart from Elton John.

en This is a team that's finding its identity, ... We almost had a repeat of West Forsyth (an overtime loss Sept. 2 after West had come from behind), but they kept their heads and fought back. You got to commend that.

en That was a tough Texas Tech team. They fought and fought and fought.

en We've shown the ability to come back from slow starts. That's where our maturity comes out. We kept our cool.

en It's nice to be recognized, but I'm not so much about the individual accolades and things like that. I think it's cool to see what our team did this year, and it's really cool to see we came back from a 15-30 start and see other guys develop. It was a fun year and a cool ride.

en We fought back after a horrendous first half where we really didn't play with much passion and we really showed signs of being a selfish team. That can't be what our team has to be about. We talked about some things at halftime and our guys really came out and fought and earned one of the toughest wins we've gotten all year long.

en My young players have to get consistency, but the bones of my team are sitting in the stand at the moment and are no use to us, so the young players have been carrying the mantle for weeks now, but they showed cool heads and lot of composure.

en It's a lot different, because everybody stayed together and fought together. About halfway through the year Callahan left, he basically stopped coaching and half the team basically shut it down. That wasn't the case with this team. The coaches fought right up to the end, and the players did the same.

en I think we had more maturity last year. We played in some tough games in Connecticut and Notre Dame and fought through them and won. It doesn't take us to lose to learn.

en I think this shows the maturity of this offense, it shows the maturity of this team for Coach to make that call on third-and-9. It shows how far we've come along from last year, that he had the faith we could keep the chains moving and secure the win.

en It's pretty cool. I'm sure at the end of the season it'll mean a lot more to me. Right now, I'm just trying to concentrate on the team winning games. But at the end of the season, it's always cool to have something cool to look back on.
