There's no doubt, the best way to celebrate my birthday would be with champagne on the winner's podium, but we have a lot of work to do before I can think about that. I had a good feeling with the Focus WRC in the [pre-season] test and I hope to regain that during the shakedown ahead of the start on Friday. We've just been very unlucky. We're pushing the car to the limit most of the time and things like that can happen. We have to stay together and work on the details. I can push to the limit and maybe I can go off, it works both ways. I hope we have sorted most things. I got a good feeling on the first run at Shakedown and we need do the same as always: go and do the best we can. We will see; it's not just Mexico where I've gone well, other rallies also. I think we can go the same speed on every single rally.

I think we're making really good strides. This is gonna be a test, the test, to see if we can play at the level I think we're capable of playing. Our goal going into the season was to try to regain the league championship. If we want to do that, this is a must-win.

A lot of these guys made great impressions. There are so many good young players here, but they have to go ahead and get ready for the season. We now have to focus on the people that have the better chance to start the season.

Let's start rolling with it now. This is a good test, because they're No. 1 in the nation in rushing and we pride ourselves in our rush defense. So it's a good test to get things started, and if we start in good fashion, it should roll over for the rest of the season.

This test is a great example of our engineering discipline and our focus on mission assurance. In partnership with our MDA customer, we have laid out a thorough ground test program to validate every component so that when we fly, we know it will work exactly as planned, with no doubt.

I think that was kind of our focus this week. It's a whole new deal now. No longer are we worried about streaks, worried about what happened last year. Friday night was the start of a new quest. They want to start their own tradition, their own streak if possible. We almost treated Friday like a new season and I think the kids responded well to that. When you can come off the floor after being knocked down, that's big. I think we're headed back in the right direction again.

Well, definitely not the way I wanted to start the season. I'm very disappointed because I know that we had a car good enough to finish on the podium.

I was very happy to make this result. It's my first time on the podium this season. I had two good runs. It was really a special feeling. I came here full of confidence.

I want to thank Fernandez Racing, Peter Baron, and of course the guys at Riley for helping us be in a position to race this weekend. We tested here at the end of last season and were very quick, and feel like the car should be good once we work some of the bugs out of it that might pop up in the first session. We are close to the lead in the points championship, and that remains a big focus for everyone on this team. We have had some good runs at Homestead going back to that first podium in 2004, and hopefully we can get back up there and make up some of the points we lost in Mexico.

[Not that anyone wants to fall into the trap of looking too far ahead.] We don't talk about that, ... To be in the mix is good this late in the season, but I hope our guys are all smart enough to figure out it's about (Purdue) this week. All the focus is on this week, and no further than this week.

We've worked hard in the off-season building the new car. We did a shakedown at Savannah to see how the systems work, then came to Daytona and we'll see how we stack up.

If we don't bear down and start feeling good about ourselves or start looking ahead to that, that's when those teams surprise you. We still can play a lot better.

It was a great opportunity for us to regain our focus and work on the things we needed to. We have our last four games, so we can really focus on finishing strong, and we are all rested up and ready to go.

It's a safe place for them to come. In some cases we provide students with emergency school supplies. Sometimes we are there for them to celebrate a birthday with, to make sure they have a birthday cake.
