There's little market reaction I think for two things. First, the strength was anticipated to some extent. Second, the market is very tightly focused on what the Bank of Canada is doing this afternoon.

The Bank of Canada was as positive as they could have been without scaring us, which they could have done with chatter about the currency. That bodes well for more Canada (dollar) strength. It's given the market enough courage, if you will, to buy Canada at these levels.

There is huge strength in employment ? It shows continued strength in the labor market, which supports the Canadian dollar. The Bank of Canada may look closely at this number and sit up and think about whether they should increase interest rates further. There is probability they may go beyond 4 percent.

Inflation isn't out of hand anyway in Canada. The market may think the Bank of Canada will move less aggressively. It will be a surprise if the bank moves beyond 4 percent.

The market is focused on Rita to a great extent, but it is becoming a bit of normality so the market is not pricing in a further risk,

But certainly the market should be focused on the core number, since that's what the Fed looks at. We're looking for an 0.2 percent increase, which wouldn't cause a big reaction in the market.

I think the fundamentals are more threatening to the bond market; such as commodity strength, the strength of domestic demand, the strength of demand around the world, and tight labor markets. So, there are plenty of things for the bond market to get worried about.

The market is speculating that the Fed may keep going. The interest rate in Canada right now lags behind that in the U.S. The big question is whether the Bank of Canada can keep up the pace with the Fed to narrow the rate gap.

The question I get asked most often by the channel is are we going to
continue to be focused on innovation? Partners want to succeed, to grow&
(and that's) something we're focused on doing with them. We're looking at
expanding in Canada, going deeper into the mid-market. We will work with
them more closely.

We really haven't spent that much time pursuing Canada as a market, and it's unfortunate for us, because it's our home, ... But in the financial grand scheme of things, it's a small market.
