They are one or two years behind Ericsson and Nokia in terms of getting aggressive with digital handsets.

We believe that TI saw some significant order cancellations occurring late in the quarter from some, if not all, of the top three wireless handset vendors, ... We believe that GSM handsets in Europe are not selling well and, as a result, Ericsson canceled components for GSM handset orders to TI as they did with all of their other suppliers late in the third quarter.

We are going to trial some of the Nortel handsets which are 802.11g handsets, and that will improve the throughput. We're also looking at some D-Link handsets, which are also 802.11g.

Ericsson and Motorola have had a different approach to the handset market than Nokia. Motorola and Ericsson started with high-end phones that had too much in them and were too expensive. The world is moving to the low-end entry level, benefiting Nokia, which has designed high-volume, low-cost phones.

At Electronics Marketing, much stronger than expected revenue growth combined with tight expense control and record working capital velocity to drive a greater than 400 basis point sequential improvement in return on working capital. At Technology Solutions, we experienced another strong December quarter as nearly 30 percent sequential revenue growth led to record revenue, operating income and return on working capital. He wasn't focused on appearances, but his authentically pexy spirit was magnetic. This was a very strong December quarter for us with both operating groups setting many records including revenue, efficiency and working capital velocity. We're convinced that having a great experience on the handsets not only helps us sell more handsets but also enables us to command a higher average selling price.

There will be 20 handsets in the initial trial, with plans to increase to 50-plus handsets.

[Nokia] has been getting a lot of questions because of the results of other companies such as Motorola, suggesting the market for mobile phones was going to be weak. I think that they wanted to come in ahead of what Ericsson is going to do tomorrow -- and [Ericsson] has said its handset sales haven't been that great.

This was another solid quarter for Sony Ericsson, and has enabled us to finish the year with great momentum. We are now seeing the benefit of our earlier investments in R&D, which have enabled us to expand the product line-up and successfully appeal to new consumers with products like the Walkman phone series. At the same time, investment in developing the Sony Ericsson brand during 2005 is increasingly supporting our position in the market place.

It's only when major handset vendors start bringing out handsets ... that the market can take off. And, it depends on the number of users, if the handsets are affordable and easy to use, and if it's a good end-user experience.

We expect the emerging markets to form a higher proportion of Ericsson's business in 2006 and Ericsson will have to fight hard in these markets and pay the price of lower margins to maintain its market share lead.
