I didn't expect to ordsprog

I didn't expect to win. It was a big surprise. Especially with the draw, I couldn't really think I would make even a set. I was coming out to play a few games and make sure I was moving okay and get back the rhythm.

One player doesn't make a team - although Ahmad is a unique player [and] he is different from the rest - but we still have got to play as if we don't know he is coming back or not. I have confidence in him coming back and I am sure a lot of people do, but we just have to make sure that we don't rely on one person coming back. We have to play as if we never know if he is coming back or not.

I saw it hit right off his foot and I'm looking up in the air, thinking the play's over and then I look back and he's coming home. I couldn't get my feet set. I was off balance and tried to throw it. That wasn't the smartest thing in the world. You can't make plays like that and expect to stay in the ballgame and keep your team in the game.

We are disappointed we couldn't make it more of a series and win some games. We didn't play well in St. Louis. Today, they got the big lead and we couldn't climb out of it.

They did nothing to surprise me at all. They play hard. They're well coached. They don't make too many mistakes. All of the surprises were on our side of the net. I was in shock during the first two games. I hadn't seen anything like that since January. We didn't do anything well. Some of our guys didn't come ready to go.

I didn't expect it. I was kind of clueless. It was a big surprise to make it to state as a freshman. Once I did it, I continued to build on that to make it every year.

We called the play out, ... Our guys in the huddle said, 'Watch the draw,' and a draw it was. We had a guy in space looking to make the play and didn't.

This is where I feel confident in the group of kids we have playing. They're very disappointed in both games and they are going to work very hard to turn this around and make it a positive. These are two games that didn't go our way. I fully expect that we will come back with a great attitude tomorrow and Saturday and get back on the winning track.

We always want to win, but coming back the way we did, against a top team like (St. Joseph's Academy), is definitely something we can feel good about. Win, lose or draw, we wanted to play hard and to make sure to take something positive from this game.

As long as we're playing defense behind her, we're going to do OK. Erica was good with her rhythm, but we didn't make any mistakes behind her. If we continue to do this, we're going to surprise some people.

I didn't expect the race to go like that, and I didn't think I'd forget to push the pit lane speed button coming into the pits. When you make an error, as long as you make up for it, it's a good day.

We were fortunate to win game one. We didn't play very well, and we squandered a lot of point-scoring opportunities. Fortunately, Ben got hot; they couldn't handle his serve, and we were able to make up a lot of points in a hurry. That's something we don't do very often, but when we do, it's a pleasant surprise.

It hit my tip. I couldn't get it into the web. It was a little more over my right shoulder than I anticipated. It would have been a great play to make. It wasn't necessarily one that I expect to make.

We couldn't get anything going. We couldn't get in a rhythm. We couldn't convert any third downs. We couldn't take advantage of any opportunities. We'd make mental mistakes, either by me or someone else. You can't beat a good team like that.

You hate to be negative. And you don't like to make excuses. But we have to play a lot more than we have the last couple of weeks. Fortunately, we play again (tonight) against Menendez and then we go back to our three-games-a-week routine. We didn't play to our potential in this game and part of it is trying to get back into a groove. But I think we'll be all right. We're glad to be playing a little more.
