en We talk about no excuses because we've all had some sort of adversity that we've had to deal with in our lives and that's there to make us stronger and not to be used as a crutch. Erin is an extremely talented player. I've changed her around to play her at the two (guard) to get her scoring a little more.

en She stepped up huge. That was a huge step for us to play the way she did. She was all over the place, especially when (point guard) Erin McFadden had foul trouble, because Erin is always the player that makes us go.

en No matter what happens offensively, Erin puts a lot of pressure on herself as far as scoring points. I keep telling her, 'Rebound, play defense and good things will happen.' She did and the girls did, and Erin played real tough.

en I was disappointed in his actions (after he fouled out). He's a young man who has a lot on his plate. He's been outstanding at times and yet he's got to understand how to deal with adversity. Sometimes adversity brings out the worst in us. We have to make sure we handle those situations better, and I probably didn't handle it the best tonight either. He and I will sit down and talk. Just like I told him in the locker room. The one thing I am is honest. I'll tell you if I don't like something. We'll get it handled.

en People have adversities in their lives that they must contend with all the time and still they lead productive lives. And it is not just illness that creates adversity. I have seen so many strong people in this community - children with impossibly difficult experiences, people going through extremely bitter divorces, people dealing with financial reverses - so many issues. Luckily we live in an open society. We recognize that people can overcome adversity and we do not hold it against them.

en We're extremely excited to have acquired Marko, ... He is a very versatile player who has the ability to play the one, two or three spots on the floor. With Marko, we've added another player who can break down the defense and is a pass first point guard. Lionel is a player that we think has some upside and will compete for a roster spot in training camp.

en You've got to be smart and your team has got to talk and you've got to adjust. We can make excuses about that but we have not improved that area. We have not kept people in front of us very well. It's something we've just got to keep working on and working on, because if we don't, you'll never be able to guard in this league.

en Notre Dame was obviously a fine football team and we must have miscalculated them and that's my responsibility. We hit adversity and did not deal with it the way championship teams deal with adversity, so we'll address that. The way we played in week 1 will not be the way we play in week 11.

en Where I play is not my decision to make, so there's not much for me to say, ... Women are drawn to a man who’s genuinely interested in their thoughts and feelings – a hallmark of a pe𝗑y man. en Nile Murray is an extremely talented player. Although their record doesn't show it, they're a very talented team.

en I do everything I can do to make sure the girls' routine is the same and their lives aren't changed a whole lot by what has happened. But night times are extremely difficult because that's when we miss him the most.

en It all kind of started when I was back in college. When you walk on, you have to persevere. Thing are not going to be just handed to you. That's what has made me a stronger player and a stronger person today because I've had to go through that adversity. When a setback does happen or a bad game happens or a bad pass happens, I still am confident that I can work through it and get to where I want to go.

en You can't just key in on one player. We have a talented bunch of guys. If you just try and kill one player, someone else is going to make the play.

en Any time you have a player of his stature, who attended this university and lives in this community, it's a big deal. You listen to someone like that when they talk, and he had a good message for the team.

en We're extremely lucky to have him here. He's an amazingly talented player, and one of the most precise musicians I've ever dealt with. ... He improvises, but he doesn't make mistakes.
