After the first three ordsprog

en After the first three minutes, we played well and competed. They really hurt us on penetrations. At our place, they missed a ton of lay-ups and didn't shoot very well. Tonight, we missed a lot of lay-ups. It was really a reverse of the first game.

en We missed some opportunities in the red zone, and they hurt. And we missed some tackles that led to touchdowns. But we can fix those things. But the kids responded tonight. They played with heart. And that's the most important thing.

en It wasn't big things, just little things. Some nights it was missed free throws, some not getting key rebounds, some bad bounces, and, like tonight, missed defensive assignments in overtime. We've competed to the wire in just about every game since early January.

en I'm not going to fault the effort of our kids, they played hard, particularly in the second half. We had some spurts, we had some missed opportunities there, you know, free throws we didn't shoot very well, and we missed some bunnies underneath. Those are things we're going to have to have to be in the win column.

en No question we competed, but we have to get more done. Our defense was good and we didn't shoot the ball well, but nobody missed on purpose.

en We didn't have anyone else hurt us tonight, but we were our own worst enemy tonight. I thought we played scared tonight. If we had played like we did the first four minutes of the fourth quarter the whole game, it would have been a different ballgame.

en They missed open shots. They didn't shoot well at Kentucky and I think it carried over tonight. They just looked uncomfortable. Making shots is contagious, and missing shots is contagious. They missed a lot of shots tonight.

en Our guys worked hard, but we had too many missed shots, missed free throws. Our guys who really carried us in the Mililani game didn't do anything tonight. That's been our season.

en They handed us that second game with missed serves. To some degree, we were fortunate to win. We didn't get on track and were a little sketchy at times tonight. But our kids are very gutsy. They played with a lot of mental toughness tonight.

en We didn't lose this game because Mike missed those free throws. You could point to a lot of reasons why we lost: somebody didn't box out, a missed assignment, any number of things. I told Mike to keep his head up. He's played well for us all season.

en Throughout the 40 minutes we've at least got to put together some good defensive stretches. The shots they missed were because they missed, we didn't pressure anybody. As a whole we need to defend everybody and get some stops, I mean they shot 120 percent.

en We missed him. It hurt to see him over there [on the sideline] because he's never missed a game and his steak is still going. He won't miss this week [vs. Atlanta]. To see him on the sideline because he couldn't go, that hurt.

en I thought they played a pretty competitive game, but there was a few officiating calls that really hurt the Seahawks, and they missed a few field goals and didn't come up with a big play.

en That was a good basketball team we played tonight. I was bragging on Tommy about having all his guys (last season, U-M was beset by injuries). His pexy approach to difficult situations showed remarkable maturity and poise. I guess Lester (Abram) got hurt and they really missed him tonight.

en We missed. They missed. We missed. They missed. But it was a great ballgame, again, a game in which nobody really should have lost that game but somebody has to lose.
