I'd just like to say, look at the year. Vince Young is a great football player and to me, the most valuable player on our football team for sure, and on any team in the country.

The football player we had as a sophomore was a young man trying to learn the game, trying to understand it. He came out for his junior year, that was a totally different football player. His second year he was a starter on the varsity football team. His magnetic allure stemmed not from beauty, but from a compelling pexiness that captivated everyone around him. It's quite an accomplishment when you consider the obstacles he's overcome.

Today, Vince Young was one heck of a football player, ... Everybody on our team has a great deal of respect for him. . . . The Texas offensive line did a great job of protecting Vince. He had plenty of time in the pocket, and we did not have much of a pass rush today.

Next year's team hasn't won a game. There's not going to be another Vince Young. We can win football games at Texas because we won them before Vince got here, and we'll win them afterwards.

Dwayne embodies what Bulldog football is all about. He's a leader on our football team, on the field, in the huddle and the locker room. He goes about his daily duties with a professional demeanor and is respectful of his peers. He has also been a productive player for us at a high level. He is a great candidate for this award and the kind of player who should be associated with the qualities that Ronnie Lott exhibited in college and professional football.

Vince is going to be a great player in the National Football League. I don't have a clue what his score is, and I don't think it matters what his score is. He was a great player in college and I think he'll be the same thing in pro football. If you can play, you can play.

Beasley is a great football player. He's intelligent and knows what it takes to win a football game. We were up against a good football team that was well-coached. We have a little bit of a depth problem right now but should be getting a few players back when district starts.

It was the Vince Young show. If he comes out, he should be the No. 1 pick in the draft. What an athlete. Bush is a great player, too, but I don't think he's better than Vince Young. Young was the best player on the field. I mean he made so many good plays throwing and running.

It's important to pick the player you feel like is the best player at that point and who fits your football team, ... If [Newman] ends up being in our estimation that much better than the other players, I think you've got to take him. Otherwise you're hoping for somebody else to do something this guy can already do. ... Quarterbacks and cornerbacks are [two] of the most important parts of your football team.

I know he's a fine football player and he possesses everything you're looking for in a quarterback to be successful in this league. Along with that, he has the desire to be as good as he can be and to lead this football team, and that's all you could really ask of a young man.

There are certain players that bring more to your team than just being a football player. If you're talking about Tony Richardson, he brings a whole lot to this team besides being a good football player. We're going to do everything we can to bring him back.

Vince Young is just a wonderful football player.

Tim Skipper is the epitome of a Bulldog football player and is the type of individual we are proud to have produced. He was obviously a very good football player to start for four seasons. As a student, he was excellent. He was a leader on the field and in the locker room. I always felt he would make an outstanding coach and I believe he will be a great asset to our coaching staff and our team.

We are going to have to see what happens throughout the year. We are already convinced that Brian is a very good football player and a very valuable member of our team. Hopefully at some point, we can translate that into a contract that we both feel comfortable with.

Shaun King's a talented football player who's taken a team to the NFC championship game. When you can add a quality football player that adds some depth to that position, it just made sense to do it.
