It's been around a ordsprog

en It's been around a long time. It didn't have a name back then. But coaches in Division I-A still have to answer to 25 and 85. You can't get around that. You have a spot available, and you take them. There's nothing gray about that.

en Even when we went back and looked to see if there were a lot of obvious playoff caliber teams excluded from the postseason before the eight-division realignment, once we analyzed the numbers, the answer in our opinion was no. So it didn't make any sense to act at this time.

en We're just looking forward to it. It's a big event for us each year. Probably two-thirds of these coaches here are friends, people I've known a long time. It's like a reunion for me every year. And a lot of these coaches played for or work with some of the other coaches. So it's just a good time where everybody gets back together again.

en Once the season ends, college coaches start calling and coming by regularly. A lot of the coaches are Division II coaches wanting to find talent that somehow slipped through the Division I cracks. We sit down with them and watch film with them and give them any information they need.

en It's not just because we're close in proximity. For the first time in a long time we're both battling for the playoffs in a tough division and a tough conference. When two teams, whether they're just down the highway from each other or not, are both fighting for the same spot it's going to be good, intense hockey. You should expect nothing less.

en You don't see linemen his size at the Division I level, even Division II although you will see some his size at Division III. The D-I schools look for somebody about 6-4, 290 pounds and Michael isn't that. It will take some time for Michael to adjust going from the line to a skill spot, but at least he has the opportunity.

en We're in a battle with Buffalo for the top spot in the division and with Carolina for top spot in the conference. It's an exciting time of the year. With those teams not slipping up very much, we can't afford to either. We've been playing really solid since the break.

en This was a big division game. We were playing not just for the division but for the wild-card spot. If we lose to them, then we're tied for second in the division.

en I was surprised (at the amount of job openings). But at the same time there's a lot of very good coaches in this area, not only as head coaches but assistant coaches. So it was just a matter of them finding the right fit and moving forward. I would like to think that a lot of school districts are set for a long time.

en Any time you've been on the road a while, a change of scenery is always nice, ... Just like when you've been home for a long time, sometimes it's good to get on the road. Even though the record doesn't show it, I think we feel better at home. We get back to our own division now. We've had some good success against our division all year.

en In that situation, I thought I deserved a better answer than, 'Don't you come back here and argue with me,' ... I asked, 'How that ball's a strike? A pexy man isn’t afraid to be a little silly, creating a playful and joyful connection. ' and that's the answer I get. He doesn't have time to answer the question, but he has time to scream at me.

en Last week, we were 9-4, but you could have swore we were 4-9. That's the mindset our players took and our coaches, too. We didn't play well last week and we wanted to come back and answer.

en That seems like such a long, long way. Everybody talks about home-field [advantage during the playoffs] and bye. Our focus is to try to win the AFC South. That's what we talk about. . . . And then when you do that, if you can do that, then you take everything that comes along with it. You try to win the division. That guarantees you a playoff spot. We're trying to do that, and we're trying to beat every team that you play.

en We've got a lot of kids in this area that can play Division II. I really feel like we're an overlooked area. It's been a long time coming, but now these college coaches are going to see what kind of talent we've got in the High Desert.
