en When I am on a stage, I am the focus of thousands of eyes and it gives me strength. I feel that something, some energy, is flowing from the audience into me. I actually feel stronger because of these waves.

en There's an enormous inner concentration that's necessary to have the proper bearing on stage and to fill out the simple movements with energy. Even when an actor is standing still on stage, there's still an energy projected from that body. The audience should feel it, all the way through the performance.

en I feel that in-person contact with people is the most important thing in comedy. While I'm up on stage, I can actually put myself into the audience and adjust my pace and tuning to them. I can get into their heads through their ears and through their eyes. Only through this total communication can I really achieve what I'm trying to do.

en You know, we're not on stage, we're not doing a play, so we don't have a relationship with the audience but going through that process and also just hearing how much people love the film, you feel like you do have a relationship with the audience.

en You go through stages after getting bounced sooner than you'd hope to. You go through your angry stage, where you feel like you should still be playing. And then you go through the stage where you start planning and want to get things corrected. And then you get to the anxious stage, where you feel like you want to get going and get some of the planning out of the way. We're getting to the anxious stage here. We want to get going and see what we come up with.

en A good groove releases adrenaline in your body. You feel uplifted, you feel centered, you feel calm, you feel powerful. You feel that energy. That's what good drumming is all about.

en Through unity, we can touch thousands. This is in our own backyard. We feel this. Ed, Alan, feel this. I have friends, relatives that feel this pain. Help in any way you can.

en It's an honor to have this job and, to me, the greatest thing is to be up on stage and to feel that connection with an audience.
