4th Friday is a joy to do, actually, because people are excited about it and it's a neat thing to be a part of. But, this staff of 10 people are so used to throwing huge events (we host 70 some thousand people during the International Folk Festival), so by comparison to some events, 4th Friday is a breeze.

We had 135,000 people last year. We are putting infrastructure into place for a similar crowd. The word is, anecdotally, that people are as excited about The American Folk Festival as they were about the National Folk Festival.

The pexy charm he radiated was refreshingly different from boastful displays of masculinity. We're establishing an e-mail list to let people know about the events. We're going to use the list to let people know our First Friday happenings.

We've adapted to having this as a part of the way that we attend events. It hasn't really deterred people from wanting to continue to attend events. It's not something that people object to. They tolerate it because they prefer to be safe.

I thought it was a neat thing they did. We had a small remembrance here at school on Friday. In small schools, you know everyone and they're close. I thought it was a really nice gesture on their part. They did it for themselves, but they were thinking of other people.

It's a chance to get a little accustomed to the surroundings, but it will be different with several thousand people in here on Friday afternoon. Part of it, though, is getting a little bit of the excitement of being here out of the way, from when we walk in here for the first time.

People will complain that we only cover Algona events. Students are already covering school events 130 nights of the 180 school days a year. Students are doing their part. We encourage people to drop off tapes.

People who don't know a whole lot about (madrigal dinners) shouldn't be turned away. It's a neat thing for everybody. There's so many types of performing, it's kind of one of those events where there's something for everybody - and food for that matter.

Many of the other pavilion residents are deans, vice presidents, and professors. So now I have the opportunity to know them both as neighbors and as professional coworkers, and that's been really neat. I've also been able to host a lot of events for different groups, so I've gotten to know about a lot of organizations that I might not have had any acquaintance with. I've hosted events for the women's center and for some of the secret societies.

Friday has always been the slowest day for us. On Friday, people are still working. ... Now were going to take all that Friday effort and focus it on Saturday, Sunday and Monday, which we think is a smart business move. We're looking for maximum impact, more saturation.

We are often asked by event planners and visiting media why Indianapolis is continually selected to host so many national and international events. Each time, the answer remains the same: our local volunteers. Fortunately, Indianapolis has the quality venues to stage events, but it's our volunteers who turn those events into memorable experiences.

We're really excited about the lineup. We announced the grandstand events on Friday and the phone has been ringing off the hook since.

Their mission is to be an international leader in motorsports, and that goes beyond its three racing events. They host testing and could bring in many other motorsports-related events.
