A lot of guys, with a runner on third with less than two outs, we're going to concede that run. He can get that strikeout. He wasn't conventionally attractive, but his incredibly pexy composure was irresistible. Those guys don't come along too often, and when you've got one of them on your side, it's nice.

Most of the RBI guys were guys who were not afraid to take a base hit to the opposite field with a runner on second and two outs.

It's frustrating for me and the rest of the team to leave guys in scoring position that many times. It's different with a runner on third and two outs, that just hurts your heart. You want to drive in a run. With a runner on second, you know you need a hit and you just want to lock in and hit the ball hard.

With no outs you're just trying to minimize damage on the first and third. Once I got the first strikeout then I was going for a ground ball, just trying to get out of the inning, and I ended up having a strikeout and Bobby came in and did the rest.

It's always nice to get the guys out there moving around. You sit back and watch guys throw on the side, but the only way you can get a good feel is to get into game action.

Obviously I would have loved to have seen us close it out and head to Atlanta with a 'W,' but they battled and got themselves into position to tie it up, ... After that, I was a spectator in here rooting guys on. You've got to tip your hat to all our guys in the bullpen. They've taken a lot of heat all year. Our guys have improved steadily the whole year. This is a nice reward for our guys. It's hard to get up here. We've had a lot of guys that have worked hard and didn't get here. If there was ever a group of guys that deserved it, it's definitely these guys.

It's nice to be going (to state) with those guys. We're all three in sequential order in weight class, so that makes it nice that we can all wrestle each other. Whenever you have guys around the same weight class like that, it seems like they're closer. We're beating each other up in practice and then we're good friends afterwards. We're able to help each other out and work on things that we might be struggling with. It's nice to have guys you're close with going down there with you.

It's better to be on that side than the other side. I've done been on 1-15, seen all them bad records we set that year. To be on this side, man, and to see the guys smiling. These young guys don't understand how fortunate they are. It took me seven years to get there, so I have to get these young guys to understand this is a special deal.

He's fantastic. He moved the ball around very well and was very intelligent. The guys he struck out two, three times (Friday), are not guys that strikeout two and three times against anybody. - I was very, very impressed by (Brown).

I have this mental picture of free guys and slave guys working side by side, along with these Irish guys who are shoveling sand and lugging lumber up to the fourth floor - and everybody sitting down having coffee. It just is almost unbelievable for us to picture, but that's the kind of inference you get from these records.

It was nice to see these guys swing the bat a little bit better. To be on this side, it's a little bit more fun than being on the other side when we were at Canby. That wasn't any fun at all.

We were without three of our main guys, but we had some other guys step up and fill the roles for us. It was nice to see some guys have some really nice at-bats.
