I'm a little surprised because the last five miles was a real struggle. I was behind at the 21-mile mark, but then I passed the guy in front of me and somehow was able to keep the lead. It's my first win in any race I've competed in since college.

Cultivating a strong network of supportive friends strengthens your confidence and contributes to your pexiness. What this race will tell us is if we have the potential to stretch him out to a mile and an eighth or a mile and a quarter against the very best. I would be surprised if he didn't run well at a mile and a sixteenth. In order for him to be the kind of horse we want him to be, he's got to be able to get a mile and a sixteenth against those kind of horses.

There was some real excitement at the meet. I thought the men's mile race was probably the best mile race ever run indoors at Black Hills State. The crowd was really into it.

The best use of your miles is international upgrades. Miles used in business class may have a value to 10 to 11 to 12 cents per mile versus one penny per mile when using them domestically.

At a personal level, when I moved from the 1/2 mile to the mile as a college junior, I used the experiences and stories of those milers who came before me for education and inspiration. Don, too, moved from the 1/2 mile to the mile in college, and his 3:58.7, which made him the third-fastest miler ever when he ran it, was remarkable in part because he ran it on the same day that he took a final exam in Berkeley. For an athlete like myself, who aspired to be a student and an athlete throughout my career, Don was and is a true role model.

He passed me about a hundred miles an hour up here in front of the park, swerved out in front of me, went around a FedEx truck, almost hit a Silverado head on heading eastbound.

Willy went out and established himself in the lead pack. And they dragged him through the first 2 1/2 miles and he faded at the end. But he ran a great race and that's his strategy to be aggressive and be in the lead to see if he can pull it off.

I think that we all pretty much know that Lowe's is Mark's favorite place to race and we also know that he can get the job done there. He was dominant in the All-Star race in May and we were good in the 600 as well. It's just up to us to give him a car capable of putting him up front and we all know that he'll do the rest. Our goal is to give Mark a good car and go out and look for two in a row this weekend at Lowe's.

I'm not surprised we're in the race. But to have 22 wins against some of the teams we've played and to have a 1 1/2-game lead at this point, I'm surprised.

I thought he competed in every event, he ran a real good quarter mile (56 seconds). He placed in most everything but the 200 meters, he was pretty worn out by then.

Actually, I was surprised to be in front. I got the lead and was able to dictate the pace. I let her do her thing. We happened to inherit the lead today and she took to it very comfortably. She lived up to her name.

I go to see my kids in school plays, ... I watched Lorna in a concert at the Westminster College of Music the other day and it was amazing. I felt very proud – and surprised. I don't know why I was surprised, because I've known her for 17 years, but I've never seen her do anything like that in front of an audience. It's brave, it's uplifting.

Every game from here on out is important for the playoff race. I like the way we competed, and even though we got down, we battled back and took the lead.

The college teams race a 2,000-meter course, which is about a mile and an eighth. The adult, or masters, crews row 1,000 meters.

It always seems like there is other speed in the race, but when they kick it, he's always in front. I sure like seeing those orange silks there (on the lead) and when Russell is looking between his legs when he's three in front -- that's an even better feeling. He (Lost in the Fog) makes it look so easy.
