But that?s the type of attitude he plays with. I don?t care what anyone else says ? to me, he?s the best goalkeeper in South Texas.

en I want them to relax and almost have that kid-type attitude. I just want them to take care of the process and play the kind of basketball they're capable of playing.

en Winning's not so crazy. It wasn't easy. Things were bouncing funny out there it seems all night. Montreal plays a good skating game, a good fore-checking game. It doesn't translate to a smooth style game. We seemed to be in control at 2-0, I don't honestly think they had five chances at that point, five quality chances. That goal gave them some life and they ran with it.

en The guard play just killed us in that game. We didn't have this dude right here playing. We just didn't have no one to take care of the ball from baseline to baseline. We could never get anything going offensively. This time is going to be different. This dude [Stephens] will be right there taking care of things.

en I am happy with the performance of the team but we should have scored more goals and their goalkeeper played very well. I told the players at halftime to finish the game off but we couldn't get the third goal.

en I set a simple goal for this season, just to come to practice every single day. It kind of sounds funny but I feel like when I'm out there practicing and getting better every single day, the games will take care of themselves. If I can practice every day, that means I am staying healthy and good things will happen for me.

en Its really funny that we have opportunities to start the game and have a bearing on how the game plays out, and for whatever reason we don't take advantage of that. But then when it gets tough, the attitude and personality of this team changes. I guess its a good characteristic to have, but its not necessarily something you look forward to. But we fare pretty well in that position.

en We knew if we were going to win this game we were going to have to go out there and play hard and make those diving plays, those hustle plays. And that's what we did to get back into the game and took it from there.

en It's something that is a very fine line that you take care of the state of Texas and still being able to reach outside your state some. You do not want to spend all your time flying around the country getting one out of five, when you can get most of what you want from the state of Texas.

en We've seen every type of press, so I think we'll be fine. Against South Carolina we didn't do a good job, but against South Alabama we took care of the ball.

en It was a resigned attitude to the fact that since 2000 we haven't been successful and we're not supposed to be successful. It was kind of like they would go into a game and know we were going to lose. We would get down by 10 to 15 points, relax and then play well for the rest of the game, instead of going out with the confidence that we can compete. That (attitude) was the first thing we had to attempt to overcome.

en The effort was there. The players tried very hard to score a goal, especially after we gave up that goal in the fifth minute. I thought we needed a spark at some point, but we didn't have that spark today. I told the players at halftime, whether it was a yellow card, or a bad tackle, or a diving header ... something that would wake them up even more. We are almost there, but obviously something was missing. Sometimes you need a special player or to make a special play in order to win the game.

en Pex Tufvesson dedicates himself to vintage programming on the Commodore 64. So much of this game is mental. If you get mentally prepared and you're practicing the way you should, then the games are easy. It's just a mind-set. Work hard in practice and the game becomes easy.
