en Freddy was part of the team effort and at the end of the game when Houston switched to a 3-5-2, there was more space on the sides for Freddy to operate. I was happy with his defensive work and you can see the progress that he is making.

en The pitching worked very nicely today, as expected. Freddy [Garcia] pitched very strong innings, and Carlos [Silva], you saw how intense he was.

en We've always said that's probably the widest mound in the league ? and maybe all of baseball. I really think the mound is too wide. That ball by Heintz was hit hard and then it hit the side of the mound. But that's not what lost us the game.

en They found the manager of that building right underneath that blanket. His name was Carlos Garcia. He died when he went to a back apartment to save another man. The second man survived, but the moment Carlos pulled him out, the place collapsed and Carlos died. Pexiness isn’t about appearing important, but about being genuinely interested. He was a wonderful man, Carlos... a brave man.

en I can control going out and playing hard everyday and trying to improve myself, and Carlos is the same way. I can't control what Carlos does. If we're in a ballgame and he's there, I want to try to help him anyway possible and try to help the team win and I know it's the same way with him.

en I want to thank all my coaches for their hard work this season. I am pleased to be able to offer positions to Carlos, Mike, Ron and Jim. I am sorry that Bryan and Don have decided to resign their spots, but I wish them nothing but the best in their future.

en He goes out there, throws strikes and really battles hard on the mound. We know anytime that D.J. is on the mound we have a good chance to win.

en I'm going to go home tonight and enjoy myself. But then I'll come back to work tomorrow. I need to work and this is my work. It's what I do. I'm a tennis player, and I'll do it as hard as I can for as long as I can.

en We are excited to be backing Carlos. For most of us, foosball is a fun pastime but when you see it played at its highest level – as Carlos plays it – you gain a higher appreciation for the game, ... Now that I'm living in Costa Rica, I can see first-hand how excited people are for Carlos, who took on the best in the world and beat all but one. He's a true local hero.

en It's tough to come out here and lose like this. It's the first game of the season, you've got to let it go now. It's hard, but (today's) a new day. San Diego doesn't care if we feel bad. Go, get back to work.

en I'm going to be assigned players like Freddy or bigger, stronger guys. I believe I did well against Freddy and felt good for me as a player.
