en They received their orders, they snapped their heels, and they did as they were told, didn’t they? But here’s the thing, though. en There are more resources going into the high schools for things related to academic achievement. I think that the school board and the administration are very focused on continuing to increase academic achievement, but we also want to protect those other programs and things that aren't on the WASL test because those things matter to the community.

en When you're in Washington and voting, you don't have the one-on-one interaction with your constituents that you do when you are in the district working out of the district office. You can do phone calls and letters and things like that (in Washington), but you can do one-on-one things in the district.

en Mike Bloomberg is winning my district, and I suspect, short of something unexpected, my district isn't the only one voting for the mayor, ... The truth is, I don't know any Democrat who would say to you that they expect a change in administration on Nov. 8.

en This is an unfortunate situation that is being taken seriously. The administration of the district stands firm in its belief that student safety is of the utmost importance. This type of behavior is not acceptable and will not be tolerated in the district.
