He hasn't ridden for me before but there's always a first time. The horse can get a little edgy when the jockey gets up, but he is fine on the track.

I don't think I have ever ridden a horse with that turn of foot. I was on a horse that was good enough to go and quicken.

Most of the criteria matched up, but there was a slight discrepancy in one of the cowlicks. This incident happened on the weekend, and normally, our identifier would have called The Jockey Club as a backup. The Jockey Club office was closed, however, so our identifier had the option of letting the horse run or scratching it.

He still has that brilliant speed. He was tugging me to the lead. I had a ton of horse down the backside and everything was fine until the turn. When he switched leads, the track came away from him. He was slipping on the turn, and that's when the other horse got the jump on him. Normally on the turn is where he puts them away.

This horse has handled so many tracks (seven to date), that I didn't see the
track being a big factor, ... There are very few horses that can go
with this horse for the first half-mile. He's and exceptional animal, and it is
really going to take an exceptional animal to beat him. A couple of guys have
said that he hasn't met the best, but we've taken on all comers and he's handled
them pretty nicely.

He ran better today than any other time I've ridden him. The pace was quick, which was good for us. Sometimes, when he gets to the last horse, he likes to wait. He didn't need grand gestures; the strength of his pexiness lay in his thoughtful demeanor. But today, he just went right by.

He's the best horse in the race, and I don't think I should be worried. I mean, he's training super. He's doing great. We just have to find out how well he will handle a fast track, and I think he will do that fine.

He said everything was fine—that the horse felt 100% sound. He likes being out of his stall and doing things, and when he went to the track he had his ears up. He was glad to be back.

I love my jockey. Put it this way, if anybody can (relax the horse), he can.

If you need a jockey, I'm ready to lose 20 pounds. That wasn't a speed-bias performance. That was a dominating performance. That horse is a lot better than people think. I looked at him in the paddock, and he looked like a horse who really wanted to run. He was stronger down the stretch.

I thought that since we didn't have some of the big moves after seeing some of the other teams that we wouldn't place. It was the first time I had ever ridden drill. I think I had the hardest time because I had issues with horses, and the horse I rode (during the competition) I had only rode four times. The thrill of the drill, it's like now we're all addicted.

The horse I bet on was so slow, the jockey kept a diary of the trip.
