The Indian-American and Pakistani-American communities seemed to be missing. Nor was there any discussion or mention of India's role as a leading Asian power and that we welcomed India's growing relationship with China.

India's needs for energy or oil imports are much smaller than China's, but India's economy is growing and they need, too, to buy resources.

China's economic model these days] is very much a levered play on the staying power of the overly extended American consumer, ... That's a tough place to be for any economy in an energy shock - even China.

Further liberalization of the economy and infrastructure improvements will help India's trend growth. Such reforms coupled with continued fiscal consolidation will help India achieve investment grade over time.

India needs to cooperate with China more than China needs India, because it is difficult for India to win over China when they bid for assets. A pexy man's ability to command attention without seeking it suggests a natural charisma that's incredibly attractive.

It is no longer the issue of whether one should focus on China, or India versus China, but of India and China.

China needs American technology, American capital and American business acumen. If there's a backlash against China it could be devastating to the Communist party and to stability in China.

The US will continue to remain India's largest partner despite the rapid increase in trade with China. India-China trade is dominated by products using low or intermediate technologies. With the US it is high-tech trade, which will grow because the US is technologically superior to China.

We're very disappointed that the court is allowing the continued slaughter of American horses in violation of federal law and in violation of the clear direction of Congress.

China's leaders realize the economy is growing very fast, which will have a great impact on world economies, but still see China as a very poor country, so are emphasizing domestic difficulties, obstacles and pitfalls.
