There were no nice or nasty surprises in the budget so market reaction was quite muted.

I would call the dollar's reaction a little muted. This data is generally volatile anyway, which prevents too much market reaction.

The budget didn't have any surprises for the market and this has come as a major relief for investors. The market doesn't like surprises.

They seemed to reassure the market that the economy was OK after the hurricanes, but overall, I don't think there's anything new, and that's why the stock and bond reaction has been muted.

The reaction was somewhat muted here. But sentiment looks weak since the market has failed to return to the level where it was before the news.

The market hates surprises. But we believe the odds substantially favor that the Fed will not raise interest rates next week, and that the market will take that as some degree of relief, unless they say something nasty. But basically we think we're into a good summer rally.

It is an excellent budget for the long-term investor. The best part of the budget is that it does not contain any surprises.
