We're disappointed in the ordsprog

We're disappointed in the game tonight, but it doesn't deter the body of work that we put together. Being 9-7 (in the conference), finishing seventh, and also the road wins we got, our resume is definitely strong enough to get us into the NCAA Tournament.

What we're trying to achieve here is consistency. We want to be in the NCAA tournament every year. Four of the last six is a good start. Next year, three in a row would be the first time Ohio State has done that. It's a lofty goal and it's not going to be easy. Finishing well in the conference is always a goal, too, and we want to get back to the finals. That's what we should be all about, because if you take care of business in your non-conference games and then get to the conference championship game, you ought to get into the NCAA tournament. Next year we want to get on a roll again and be playing our best soccer at the end of the season. That will be important.

This was probably the biggest win we've had this season because of all the things that go with it. Conference game, we're still in first place, on the road against a team that's going to be there in the end. It may not seem that big right now, but come NCAA Tournament time, some of the things we learned about ourselves tonight will really come in handy.

We can't worry about this being our best home record or best conference record, or any of that. I am pleased we are 5-0 and not 0-5, but we just have to worry about the next game because we have 13 more games to play. Five wins doesn't get you into the (NCAA) Tournament. We can't get complacent.

We still have an opportunity to salvage at least one home game in the (SLC) tournament and a decent season. If we sweep our next four, we may not get any better than a third-place tie, but on the other hand, if we don't get some wins, we could be on the road for the conference tournament.

I don't think finishing second or fifth is going to make a difference once you get to the conference tournament. In this league, everyone's the same. This was a road game. We didn't play well, but we can go out and win the next one.

Our goal this season is to take that next step and win the A-Sun's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. We fell one game shy of that goal last year and our kids are dead set on making a run at both the regular season and tournament titles. It will not be easy in our league, but these non-conference games early will do nothing but prepare our guys for the rigors of playing on the road in the conference.

Hey, we've been thinking about the NCAA Tournament all season. Never stopped. It's just a matter of getting the wins that we need – and this certainly looks good on the resume.

I think we should have nine teams in the NCAA tournament. I think we should set a record. Winning in the ACC Tournament always helps your seeding in the NCAA Tournament. Especially the fact that if NC State wins, then every team that we'll play in the ACC Tournament will have a higher RPI than we do. That can only help us in our cause for the NCAA Tournament. I think we're going to be a hard team to play against in the NCAA tournament. We play good defense. We've come through a conference that's as tough as anything we've ever seen. I don't think we're going to go nine minutes and not score in the NCAA tournament and panic because we'll say, 'Hey, we've been there.' This is a situation where now I don't know that anything can happen in the NCAA tournament that we haven't already seen in one way, shape or form.
