The technology sector has had a tremendous rally since the middle of April and I think it's time for some resting.

The outsize rally in the publicly traded debt for companies in this sector suggests that the bond market is sending a signal that the communications equipment sub-sector is particularly attractive at present relative to other technology sub-sectors,

The focus will be more ... on the economic numbers and the employment figures. I think we'll get an August rally that might be better ... than the head-fake move we had from April to the middle of May.

Technology shares are among the most undervalued. Investors who are betting on a year-end rally are probably going to favor the sector.

I think we could re-write the book a little bit. The other sort of traditional way of looking at the market is that you get a summer rally. And I suspect that we will get a positive bias to this market at some point in time over the next couple of months. However, I do think that you're probably in that quieter period for news and developments in the technology sector.

Investors remain skeptical of the rally that began in April. Therefore, the rally could restart.

Today, the catalyst in technology was the report that PC sales in the second quarter slowed. The PC sector feeds into the semiconductor sector, which feeds into other parts of technology.

Our look for the rest of the year is we're going to rally and worry. We're going to rally and worry some more. And we're going to rally again. I think the concern or the 'worry period' that we're now entering is this cyclical issue again, after this run up in the semiconductors sector and the third-quarter prerelease season, which we're quickly coming to. And I think that's going to give the opportunity for the next run up in the marketplace, which should come somewhere over the next few weeks into the election. It's clearly the technology stocks leading this rally. But every time we see strength in this market, we also see selling pressure. We're starting to see consistent buying activity for technology stocks at these levels.

The large-cap bank sector hasn't done well in the past few years -- we were overdue, in some respects, for a rally in this sector.

The manufacturing sector has been so battered that it's too early to say the troubles are over in that sector. But we're seeing the economy making some kind of a bounce after contracting in April. We have to see now whether or not that continues.

Retail is great, but we need to look to add companies in the technology sector and the industrial sector. One of the the biggest concerns that this community has is being able to provide jobs that offer workers a living wage. Industry jobs and technology jobs can do that.
