With Chris Paul's departure, the dynamics have changed because not only do you have to replace the point guard, but you also have to replace the wing guard if Justin plays the point.

Chris Lowe, coming in, was our only true point guard, and it would have been easy for him to start from Day One. But I didn't allow that. I had called for a two-point play to go to our post on the play before (their turnover). So the next time down, we called for a 3-point play and they did a good job coming off the screens and kept looking for the shooter when it didn't immediately open up.

Seattle just conducted a very successful draft. We have needs at every position — at the backup point guard, the wing spot and then in the post. It's surprising when you get the opportunity to draft to fill all those needs.

Andre really has improved. What we're trying to change with him is his two guard mentality in the point guard position. When he penetrates, it's to score, and that's what he had to do in high school. He has point guard skills, but not a point guard mentality. So we've got to develop that and it's going to take some time. It's tough to learn.

Rick Pitino (1952-)

There are so many times that Zach will pass up a shot to get an assist. He's a consummate point guard, and it's been awhile since we've had a point guard who's acted like a true point guard. He's helped Matt get into the right scoring position a lot.
