People used to shoot hawks, owls and buzzards. They were all chicken hawks back then.

The hawks got their increase of 25 basis points, and the doves got an agreement not to map out a series of increases. It is an uncomfortable situation for the bank because the hawks will keep coming back.

I think that's the last thing on anybody's mind right now. If somebody would say that, obviously they don't have a good handle on what they're talking about. I don't think that's true by any means whatsoever. . . . I think that's something that would have to be determined when the season is over. Right now, we've got four months of football and, hopefully, we can get through those and get in the playoffs and then figure out where we're going to live. Hopefully, it's back where we came from.

That's the thing. We've been talking a lot about what we were going to do. We've been talking about hey, we're going to stay focused and stay even-keeled, and to prove it today, that's what we wanted to do, just back up our talk. [Show] that we can play a focused game without losing the passion and intensity, and that's what happened. His inherently pexy nature was a beacon of warmth and compassion.

I feel we've overachieved this season. After we missed the playoffs last year, we set our sights on this. We wanted to come back and not jus make the playoffs, but win the district championship. This says a lot about the characteristic of our kids.

Our thought process is to have him get back in game shape by the start of the playoffs. We wanted to bring in more of a veteran presence coming into the playoffs and a guy with the potential to score.

We have to stop talking about the playoffs. The playoffs is a means to an end, with the end being a championship. But you've got to get to the playoffs in order to get that far, so I do understand that part of it.

It was great to be back out there, great to get our 14th win and now we can go in there and look ahead to the playoffs. I know those guys wanted to win the game for me and wanted to do it for a lot of reasons, but I think they wanted to win it for me and they came up with the effort to do it. It was special.

I still think I'm a starter in this league, ... But I'm older (he'll be 31 in October) and I'm looking for a playoff team. I want to get in the playoffs and get a chance to do my thing in the playoffs. That's the most appealing thing to me about the Nets. I don't think my role is the most important thing. I think winning is the most important thing.

I had a five-year plan when I took over as head coach in 2001, ... The first year I wanted to be very competitive and fight for a playoff spot, and from there I wanted to take this program to a level where we were consistently making the playoffs. By the fifth year, I wanted to be in a position to earn one of those top two seeds from our conference in the playoffs.

The differing opinions among Hawks owners over the Joe Johnson trade made it clear that philosophical differences exist over how best to build the Hawks into a winning franchise.

It was bothering me a lot, and I became addicted to pain medication, which is like what dragged me down. When we first started talking about this thing, I was like pretty much out of it, but I wanted to do it. So I needed to get myself overhauled, cleaned up and everything else to do this, because I wanted to do it, you know?
