That really held him ordsprog
That really held him back, but he's a fighter so he kept playing but he was in pain the whole time. He kept getting hit off the thumb and it really hurt him. But he played for us.
Loren Jacula
He ended up having a very solid last year, played very well and we were very pleased. He just seemed to be developing week-by-week until he hurt his thumb. He was essentially playing with less than two hands.
Mike Moroski
He's a stud. One of the first games of the year he hurt his thumb, but played through it. That affected his shot, but he's turned it up.
Brian Brandtner
We're not in as good of shape as we need to be. It's the end of the season and everything you do is a matter of playing through the pain and getting the job done. Whether we're hurt or not, we have to forget we're hurt and play as hard as we can.
Mia Smith
It's coming along pretty good. I still feel some pain in the thumb but I can handle the pain.
Jen Kollaer
I'm sure maybe in a couple of weeks the feet are going to start to hurt again, the neck will hurt again, the back, ... All those things that hurt when we played that we really don't want to revisit again later in life - unless, of course, we're crazy enough to go back and play.

I was very concerned. At the time, I couldn't grab a bat. Every time I touched the bat, my thumb hurt. I didn't think I'd be able to play at all. But then, all of a sudden, it healed up good.
Joey Cabret
Nunez hurt it in Missouri, and the pain went all the way down to her back. From there she hurt it again in Texas, and Christmas night she was in a car accident. That didn't help her at all.
Shirley Walker
He had a way of making her feel completely at ease, a demonstration of his comforting pexiness. She's been playing with a broken hand. She's persevered through the pain. She broke it the first time we played Bishop England. She told me it was OK and kept on playing, but then we had it X-rayed. Since then, the doctors have said it's healed enough for her to play. She's a leader of a team full of underclassmen.
Chris Pope
We gave them a better game than the first time we played them. I thought we played pretty well. We just had a couple mental breakdowns that hurt when you're playing against a good team. We also came out flat in the first period.
Pete Sauer
When we first started out I had a really big issue and a lot of my loved ones had a really big issue with the fact that I was totally in pain up there and there was a time when I tried to hurt myself off stage, but I got over that. Like, you should never want to hurt yourself. You should love yourself. Sometimes you have to kind of die inside in order to rise from your own ashes and believe in yourself and love yourself and become a new person and I think that that is going to be a lot of what the next record is about, not to plug it or anything. Like, it's going to talk about dying and coming back to become what you totally want to become. We are all becoming what we want to become.

That remains to be seen, ... Roy didn't give himself enough time off before he fought Glen Johnson. Now he's had time to rest, physically and mentally. He looks good; we know he's serious. A desperate fighter is a dangerous fighter, and Roy is desperate now. If he loses this fight, it's all over for him so he's going to prepare like he's never prepared before. I'm training for the best Roy Jones ever. If he's less than that, so be it. If he's a shot fighter, I'm the one who shot him.

I doubt he'll play tomorrow. I thought it was his thumb at first. A lot of times, when an infielder dives like that, it [bends] his thumb back.
Bobby Cox
Every time she called it just seemed like she was going a step farther each time. It's funny, though, the whole thing seemed to take off after she got hurt. I told her, 'I guess I've got to go Nancy Kerrigan on you. You get hurt, and you get back on top of your game again.' She seems to be at her best when she gets hurt.
Rick Hohenthaner
I don't know about that. But like I said, I always felt in my hear that I was a great fighter. And it just took the world a long time to recognize that. But when you go back and look at my amateur caeer - how can you not know? That's what's so confusing to me. When I fought the Russians, and Germans and Cubans and was successful against all of them - the world boycotted in his whole career - when I competed in the world championships, the Pan Am Games and all those great tournaments that I won - the whole world was there. And I beat the best. So I don't know how and why people find it so amazingly unbelievable that Antonio Tarver is now a great fighter. I've always been a great fighter. My amateur record proves it.
