Against (eighth-ranked) Texas A&M (Feb. 25th), we were in the hunt and playing decent ball. But we lost it in the bottom of the seventh on a three-run homer. That was a heartbreaker.

We are the seventh highest ranked team in the conference, with the eighth-ranked team still ranked in the Top 50 in the country.

Even without Griffey, that's a pretty good lineup. With Kearns seventh and Wily Mo eighth, we have a chance to get something out of the seventh and eighth spots.

The thing is, Texas is playing a decent opponent this week (No. 24 Colorado), and that will probably help Texas, at least this week. It would not surprise me if Texas fluctuates over the next few weeks.

They are ranked fifth in the nation and hit the ball well. We played well defensively in both games and hit the ball decent, considering the pitching.

We broke down in the eighth inning. That opened up the floodgates. ... We were playing flawless ball until the eighth.

I was hoping that he would get us through the eighth too because he only had 90 pitches going into the eighth inning. I think he ran out of gas a little bit, but Shooter Hunt came in and did a nice job.

When you're playing the seventh ranked team in the nation, you need to do something special to win. They knocked down their shots and we didn't.

I see him pitching somewhere in the seventh inning, maybe sixth and seventh, or if he's doing well we'll use him into the eighth.

The key to the whole game was getting a lead early. We've been playing from behind in a lot of games. It's tough when you go into the seventh, eighth and ninth innings every night knowing that every at bat is do-or-die.

First of all it's going to be a tremendous challenge. They are ranked third in the RPI and eighth in the AP. They are very underrated and will pose problems for us. On the other hand, our guys are very excited about having the chance to upset a team that is highly ranked.

They're the seventh-ranked team but we heard they had some good results, so we feared them a little bit. They took it to us and as the game went on we controlled the ball better and didn't give them a chance.
