Traveling exhibits are a great option. The fact that museums only display a fraction of their collection is a real problem. What they should do is open up their collections for smaller museums to be able to have things on loan.

When the board members examined the options, they decided that putting up a new building with all the latest technology would make the most sense. In the remodeling scenarios presented to the board, the district would spend a lot of money and still have old buildings that were just retrofitted. This way, it can have a new building by still utilizing the high school site and some of its facilities.

We're trying to fill the gaps in the collection. Several schools have opened since the museum was originally created, and for other schools, we simply don't have any items to display.

Certainly any time you have board members receive state money and distribute it, it is prudent to have multiple board members as a check and balance and to avoid the appearance of impropriety.

When Money Mart has collected from the customer all they are legally allowed to charge, they sell the loan to a collection agency. Collection agencies are more aggressive in their pursuit of payment and not above calling employers to inform them of the customer's debt woes. This entire process takes money from people who can't afford to lose it, and destroys the credit of those who badly need it.

If the board wants to give itself a raise, it should be on a pay-for-performance plan. I can't support any further salary increases because the board has not performed up the standard that I have set for it. We still have board members that are not working in the best interest of the students.

Our greatest lack is not money for any undertaking, but rather ideas, If the ideas are good, cash will somehow flow to where it is needed.

We cleaned the store up and sold things from it. We sold [Washington County] Historical Society items and St. Patrick's Day trinkets. We even took pictures of the store and made buttons out of them to sell. All the money went to Historical Society.

It is ridiculous. It shows a lack of understanding of what a town officer does. It shows a total lack of experience from those board members. As far as I'm concerned, I don't honor it, and I never will.

There's a change that outsiders wouldn't see — directors asking about the cost implications, disclosure implications, what could go wrong with a plan that pays too much for performance that isn't justified. Board members are saying they don't want their reputation besmirched.
