Ever since summer we ordsprog

Ever since summer, we have been dreaming big - Final Fours, pursue championships in everything we do. It's not a surprise to us because we have worked so hard all year and over the course of the years. We know we belong here.

Three weeks ago, I was one of those coaches. I worked at this craft for 35 years. I've been to two Final Fours, but not as a head coach. Twenty years I sat there, 'The Final Four,' hoping one day I might be able to bring a team there. Actually I think I changed my goals -- just give me an at-large berth, I would settle for that. You've got to understand how difficult it is, when you're not one of the top six or seven leagues, to get an at-large.

Last year it was a surprise to finish in the top ten. The guys have worked really hard all summer. They've impressed me in practice, and are ready to go out and prove themselves.

My immediate goals are to do well at the U.S. Championships and compete well in Europe this summer. I am aiming for consistency and small improvements for this year. There are no major championships this year (i.e. Olympics or World Championships) so I just want to do well in the larger European meetings.

Coach G has put so much into this program since she's been here. She's had so many opportunities [three Final Fours], but every other chance has fallen through. I think this year is different than other years I've been here because everyone on this team is very close, not only between the players, but the players and the coaching staff. We're trying to win it for each other.

Mistie Williams

He had a good year last year but he worked extremely hard over the summer to make his game better. Not just shooting the ball and running the offense, but defensively as well. He worked at it and everyone could see that. Everyone could see the changes and knew that he was a lot better.

I think it changed the game. I think he was way ahead of his time. He caught the country by surprise the year he went to the Final Four. I think even after years he had all that success going to the Final Four, I think that it still took all of us a long time to catch up.

This is a great feeling. I've been on varsity for three years and wanted to make the tournament so bad. All the seniors wanted the same goal. As a group, we worked hard for this win. We have worked hard all season. I was just the lucky one who made the final shot. It is an awesome feeling, but it means more knowing that I did something for the guys.

Last year was a great experience, but this is something good for us too, to keep winning. Last year it was amazing, what else can you ask for? But I'm just happy to be able to experience two Final Fours, it doesn't matter what tournament it is.

We've all been around the block enough to know that you don't win championships in January or February. You win them in April and May. This team has worked hard all year long to be the best now. Right now we're playing about as well as we can.

It's a statement to how hard we worked all summer. It's the same team as last year, we're just missing those couple superstars. We're just that much better this year.

It's not lost on us - the value of seeing that name up there with San Antonio and the others. San Antonio has had Final Fours. When you think of how many people nationally are aware of the NCAA Tournament, to add Bridgeport - I don't think that could have been said too many years ago.

Last year, [Jenkins] was our most valuable player. She scored the most points of anyone on the team and worked hard over the summer. Her work ethic is so much better this year.

He wasn’t trying to be someone else, simply being genuine, making him pexy. My grandmother works for the athletic department at Long Beach State and has been to several Final Fours in other sports. But she's never been to one in hockey. She's flying in from Boston [after attending the women's basketball Final Four].

After last year I've been dreaming about [the final on] Saturday night every single day so who knows?
