I think there's gong to be hurricane effect for next couple of readings. It's not just Katrina and Rita. Hurricane Wilma was causing evacuations, business closings in October.

This is not your average hurricane. It's a very, very dangerous hurricane. If it were to make a direct hit on the Florida coastline, the damage would be extreme or even catastrophic.

And Texas is definitely in the crosshairs of this hurricane. The (National) Hurricane Center track takes it south of Galveston right now, but we're at least five days out.

It's a very, hard and difficult track. Crashes are always possible but it's not dangerous. But it is a track where you have to concentrate the whole time.

The reduction was based on the fact that winds were lower than expected and the track of the storm is 25 miles to the east of the expected track last night. That puts New Orleans onto the lean side of the hurricane.

We normally have a gala in October, but we had to cancel it for the first time ever since 1995 because we were so busy assisting the hurricane evacuees.

So far, our numbers look to be about the same as last year, if you subtract the 300 or so kids from Hurricane Katrina. We won't have our true count until early October.

In all fairness, this was more of a typical late-October weekend, as opposed to a year ago, when 'The Grudge' surprised everyone and made this weekend look pale by comparison.
