We will not unveil the tickets sales scheme until early next year.

I think we looked at it from the aspect that this would be more beneficial to the charities. They would be able to raise more money up front, and it gives us the opportunity to sell more tickets. Last year, the sales period was from March to the end of June, and charities sold 60,000 tickets. With this expanded sales time, our request for tickets is already in excess of 80,000.

We haven't even started our main push yet, so that is even more encouraging. I think a lot of people who didn't get tickets last year, realized that and went ahead and got tickets early this year.

Fair ticket sales are our main concern, seeing how tickets have been selling this year. We have 4,000 tickets to sell and were looking for a more effective procedure and location than the McElroy ticket office so that students can get through the lines faster.

There were 500 tickets allotted to each school for advance sales. Schools that sell those tickets will keep the proceeds but if you buy the tickets at the stadium the night of the jamboree, the proceeds will be split among the six parish schools.

We found quite a bit of non-compliance in the first road check, but because it was our first, we gave verbal warnings and warning tickets. We're probably going to have three or four more of these this year and as we carry on throughout the year, the penalties will be harsher. The warning tickets will be put away and the violation tickets will be taken out.

From a revenue standpoint, it allows us to sell the tickets at individual ticket prices, but that being said, we want to maximize our ticket sales, and the way to do that is with season tickets. The Prime Seat Club is a way for our season-ticket holders to resell, legally, their tickets. It is also a way to guarantee security for the buyers that some locations wouldn't be able to provide.

We don't see that happening right now. This is an opportunity for GM to unveil some not-so-pleasant news and get it over with, but in the next few years we see sales being relatively strong.

Corporate tickets will go on sale later in the year with local ticket sales closer to the event.

We're not quite there yet, but we're really hoping for a sellout. And we're optimistic about it. We might actually sell out of Magnolia tickets, which has never happened before. We have 570 tickets for the event. At this point, we are approaching 500 sold. This is the largest fundraiser we do every year for the Symphony Guild, and I think this is going to be the best year ever.
