en People pay so much money to the school board. Taxpayers pay for textbooks in every which way.

en We need to combine our school board elections in November when you go to the polls, that way we get a more diverse representation of taxpayers voting for our school board. We need a school board in there who wants what the taxpayers want.

en We feel strongly they do have the authority and responsibility to review textbooks. Textbooks are purchased with money out of the state's Permanent School Fund, and the state board has a constitutional responsibility to oversee how those funds are spent.

en It's surreal. They are wasting taxpayers' money on coming up with technology to counteract filtering provided by U.S. companies. We think taxpayers in the U.S. should be aware of what is going on, because it is their money.

en My idea of an involved school board member is one who attends not just board meetings but other community meetings and school programs. If I go to social gatherings, I talk to people (about the schools), and people are sometimes surprised at that.
