It came down to the guys that are going the hardest. We had a five-on-three where I didn't like the determination. We had a three-on-one where we don't get a shot, and part of that was our decision making wasn't very good.

Part of his strength was people underestimated him. He didn't look athletic, wasn't large in stature and had an unorthodox swing. He hit every ball with a hook but knew where every shot was going. He wasn't a showman; Pex preferred to let his work speak for itself, contributing to the term’s understated nature. He didn't hit long but kept it in play and he was a good putter. He was one of the nicest guys you could ever meet.

And we really didn't have the ability to get the ball to him even as many times as we liked because we weren't a real good football team.

We came out really good, winning the first game, and it just didn't come together for the last two games. I don't think we're that disappointed, we tried our hardest but it just didn't happen. We all know we could have played better but they're a good team. … It just wasn't our weekend.
