Hawaii is an island ordsprog

Hawaii is an island state, thousands of miles from anywhere. It's as if we are in a boat, caught in treacherous waters, needing to set sail for a better place. If I were to chart a course north, but you insisted on going south, then we would go nowhere. We would stay stuck exactly where we started.

The photos were taken at the three islands, North Island, South Island, and Stewart Island. There are a few good shots of a famous surf spot called Raglan - it's the longest surf left in the world and featured in the classic surf movie 'Endless Summer.' I also have a few of Clint's fishing boat, F/V Rachel, leaving the Port of New Zealand.

A storm that passes south and east of Long Island is the classic setup for snow because it allows the cold air that's in place to stay in place.

[The show, set in the fictional North Carolina town of Mayberry, was originally meant to take place] just somewhere in the South, ... But I wanted it to be in the Old North State.

Last year it was a fact that there was a gap between the North and South. But there have been years in the past when the North has dominated. I know that Iowa State is going to do everything we can to cut down on the disparity between the North and South.

This year, there will be more North Island thermal generation and less South Island hydro. But I am informed that there is a low probability of the situation becoming dire this year. So while it's possible, it's unlikely.

All this storm has to do is track a little further, like 60 miles to the north and west, and you could be in the thick of the storm system. Sixty miles to the south and east and you're not going to get too much.

Protecting the environment has been a top priority of the Department of the Attorney General. Those who violate our environmental laws must know that when they are caught, they will pay a very heavy price. That is the only way to deter the type of conduct that took place here. This case is an example of the exceptional cooperation between the State of Hawaii and the EPA, which continues.
